DON'T JUST READ
I applied for a job and after going through a rigorous selection from about 35 applicants, I made it to the final 2.
We were told to do medicals in a particular hospital, which I did and I was told my medical result will be sent to my intending employer and I should come pick mine in few days.
Luckily for me I got a text from my prospective employer asking me to come pick up my Offer letter.
I went there looking forward to see what Offer letter looks like, for the first time It was my turn and sadly, I was told my medical result shows that I am hepatitis B POSITIVE , my mind went off. The woman said they are sorry, they can't employ me again that I need to take care of my health first, I was later directed to the doctor in the hospital to take necessary steps for the treatment.
Immediately, I went to the hospital, I meet the doctor and he told me it's a disease that causes liver problem that I will need to pay a sum of 35,000 naira for vaccine. I left and begin to surf the Internet to know more about hepatitis B, after visiting a lot of sites, I had to reject this disease by faith through praying and fasting.
Few days later I went to a reputable laboratory and the Olabisi Onabanjo University teaching hospital to do Hepatitis B test, behold both carries a NEGATIVE result. I don't know how to thank God enough for that.
I told my brother who is a medical doctor for the first time about the whole issue and he got a number on the result the first hospital gave me, and they told him I should come for another test. I went there the following day and I did the test and I was given a POSITIVE result again but this, I suspected them because the doctor in charge of the hospital called the lab man to his office before I was given my results. Then the doctor said to me that their kit is still showing positive but this time it's showing a thin line that they can only know after 2 months.
I have gone through emotional and physical stress because of this big hospital's "negligence and carelessness" What do you all think I should do house? I need your advice and assistance.

Malpractice suit. Could be worth a few millions in punitive damages. Could even settle out of court. Get a malpractice attorney or an ambulance chaser. Mind you though, your brother would never support this.

Write a comprehensive Letter to the Company explaining your position and backing it with different facts. If possible ,suggest another test in another accredited hospital and you may offer to foot the bills.

Go to MECURE or PATHCARE laboratories in Lagos to confirm first.
Right now, It is the word of Olabisi against your first hospital.

the 20days period ended yesterday and I don't know if I should go back and let them do another test. To me, I wish they could just write my prospective employer about the whole thing but they won't want to lose their credibility because it's an aviation hospital.

This is serious. Dear u have been played. This employers look for ways to tarnish one's image so they can bring their candidate. How can they explain a compromised test result when your confirmed source said u are fine.

Dear Yettybaby, I empathise with you for this unnecessary emotional and physical trauma caused by this doctor. It's completely unacceptable.

That your Hepatitis B positive doesn't mean you need treatment immediately. The test carried out by this doctor only shows your positive. To decide whether you need treatment requires further Testing to ascertain the Hepatitis B viral load. The doctor should have counselled you properly rather demanding for 35,000 naira for treatment.

I have a patient who had a similar case. The doctor prescribed an antiviral drug for him. In his doubt he contacted me for clarification. I took time to explain everything about Hepatitis B to him. He never took the drug and he's still very much alive and healthy. Presently only Hepatitis C has a cure. There's no cure for Hepatitis B.

Please like someone said a repeat test from a reputable Laboratory like PathCare will suffice. Better if the test could be done in a government hospital that will override the test done by this doctor. It's rather unfortunate that some doctors in their greed and limited knowledge on certain illnesses are dragging the medical profession to the mud.

Please and please don't accept any drug for Hepatitis B. All you need is to abstain from alcohol, drugs and other substances that can negatively affect your liver. You can live to a ripe old age with Hepatitis B. Should you be in doubt kindly visit a specialist. A consultant Gastroenterologist will put you through. Thanks.

I don't know what to say in this kind of issues, but I'd suggest you get a lawyer, it's indirectly a life and death issue. They appeared more to be protecting name rather than life (according to your word)
