[b] *************×××××××××××× Kwan2nason×××××××××**************** OSINACHI -------------------------------------TODAY----------------------------------- Arrows kept flying, as i expedite my legs performing a speedy pace into the bushy forest, dodging branches of trees that lay lifeless on the ground, the voices of animals and insects added to the rhythms of my heartbeat. The combination of those acoustics sounds generates a melody of uncertain fate. Death seems fearful when you are face to face with it. Have already lost important friends, three of my escorts are down and gone. Running is the only option have got so I need to utilize it to its full capacity. I continue running deep into the forest full of trees,dry leaves birds and the unknown, the pace at which my chaser moves is more like a wind or should I say shadow its like the grasses and trees are chasing after me.I don't know who they are or what they are, the only little information I got about them came from one of the dead men that volunteer to come with me on this journey. All I could remember is his words that got we all laughing "We are now in the region of the Dead Archers" His other two comrades laughed at him,I had to laugh because the ways he describes them is as if they are winds. His words of description are as power as impossible and His metaphor are far beyond iimagination. I don't blame his comrade that made jest of him before but now I do. Cause I would have known little about this beings chasing me. "Its impossible for someone to possess such skill and dexterity,it's just a lopsided tale not fully abreast with certainty. No one I mean no one can shot arrow from such a distance as you claim, Its just a tale made to scare away kids ," One of his fellow comrade made him a jocular.it's somehow unbelievable that arrow's could move so fast, But now I believe, seeing how fast those arrows came killing two warriors and the other guy died protecting me, I owe him my life that's if I make it out of here. I kept running deep into the forest.I removed the blue map of direction from my attire. I tried searching for my destination while running but I couldn't concentrate,the speed am on will not even let me see a line on the paper. So I just have to run and run. Its all quiet no sound of chase or sign of flying arrows, maybe I lost them. A quick peep inside the map to see which direction to follow. The paper disappeared from my hand, No not disappear snatched cause an arrow clued the map to a tree, It snatched the map from my hands while I was reading it's contents. How can someone aim arrows with such ease its like the arrows have eyes and ears. I stretched my hands to retrieve the map which result to another arrow that nearly destroyed my finger, I ran living my only source of information clued to a tree. I don't know the direction to follow but I kept running, its the only option have got just like I said earlier. its either I die of tiredness or thirst, which is a good death or die at the hands of these demons, been captured is not part of my plan and death from their arrow is an outcome I will prevent.I won't let them accomplish that mission. Am a naija guy and in my country we don't keep last as position.. ---------------------------------------3 WEEKS AGO---------------------- Health balances quickly when you have all the required remedy for an illness, here am I strong and healthy all thanks to the Queen, the experience I had the last few days was centered on herbs and test. And the most common sentence and words that rotated my ears are Drink this it will help you flush away toxic of the poison Eat this it will help you build a stronger immune system and new blood cells. Inhale this it will allow your heart pump clean blood. Bath with this it will make your body fresh and allow you a quick healing process when you get injured. Eat,sleep ,rest and eat that's the only thing have done all courtesy to lady Queen. If the secret of this peoples cure is brought to earth am sure they will make huge wealth. Its a waste of talent here cause almost all the indigenes knows more about medicine and magic than sex. If they are finally out in the market of medicine they May be the wealthiest pharmacy or hospital, Don't call me an Igbo man but you should know that earth needs medicine, for illness and diseases like AIDS, Ebola, HIV, yes Cancer, those are just few among many others. Have enjoyed from the Queen's table, drank from the best goblets in the city, massaged by beautiful maids. There is one thing have not tasted yet. Its hole drilling, have not drilled any hole since my arrival and my hormones are already firing up. But I just arrived it's not even up to a week or more, patience is a virtue I will stick to that. Finally she had decided that I should start something to increase my odds against the cloak demons,even though I tried getting more information about them from her she told me, she don't know or maybe she's acting cause she ended the discussion with- "When the time comes you will know all that you want but for now you are not ready" After our little discussion yesterday between me an the Queen.I came to conclusion that She is open to conversation and free too. I knew little secrets about her and how she's just acting before her subjects but there in her chamber she is a girlie girl. Who wants same thing other ladies have, A husband, children, friends that don't fear her. She Wants to walk the city without guards, sleep at a friends house, enjoy live but then she can't cause with great Authority comes great responsibility. she told me her name is Xylose that she is a twin and her sisters name is Xyris is dead. That she died few years ago. I felt for her, cause her stories are touching and emotional. That her twin sister was the former Queen who died at the line of battle. Our bond grew each day,though I didn't tell her anything about Osun cause I believe she knew every details, why won't she? Remember the illusion trick. Soon i was through with the breakfast they offered me. I wore a garment like a Prince I could see the way the maids are looking at me and I love it. There is this beautiful sensation that over whelms you when you become a center of attraction for people. As i Stepped out from the dining room I walk down the stairs, eyes kept staring while mouths did the greetings. I walked majestically to an open field made for training , I was directed to the part made for archers. I admire their collections of bows and each arrows where beautifully made. walking around while touching and smiling at the collection. I took one of the arrows. As my heart was already impatience , i remembered how archers do in movies. I've watched more Hollywood movie than nollywood so shooting an arrow should be very, very easy. Trainees gathered to see me perform, I smile another platform just presented it self "I have this under control this is a good time to show them am no mere mortal" To prove to the entire people present at that time that am a professional and my magic is conflicting things the more. for the first time since I came to this city that I could feel my magic not just feel it but powerful and strong. Its added enthusiasm to my rational thought. I took a bow then plugged and arrow to it I aim at a distance .I felt a very strong wave of magic in me my hands tighten my eyes became sharper I could now see my aim tree properly and I felt more like a professional, people stood more focus on me they all want to see the outcome. But I know the outcome I could see my target closer than them which is an added bonus I released my arrow "Wheeze" The arrow went flying as every heads and eyes moved in motion with the flying arrow. "Haaaaaaaaaaaah" They screamed then laughter erupt the air the arrow flew without direction not even close enough to hit/struck anything. but I saw it clearly what happened why did my arrow loose its aim, Am i really just a mere mortal . "wheeze ------- flib" An arrow was fired form behind me it hit the aim stand. the laughter ceased then everyone turn to the direction the arrow came from, I myself I needed to step aside cause its like the shooter is directly behind me and am covering their view. I turned and saw an old man who could barely walk, he was holding a bow. Clap replaced the silent before finally his tiny bass voice spoke " Bow and arrows are like a virgin girl you must show her some necessarily characters before she will decide to fall for you here are things to always remember 1-Balance 2-Focus 3-Relationship 4-Communication" I still don't get it how can an old man like this that could barely see shot an arrow from that distance an achieve a great result. While me a young man full of magic can not even hit the big tree it was tied to, let alone the aim point. This is serious or it there cheating in it? My body that was already getting fat from the good meals I enjoyed while bed resting is now been drained as a result of the excess exercise and training, I thought archery is all about plug ,pull then fire but I got the opposite I now avoid some certain foods all because I need to be fit, I do push ups , go field jogging and wood cutting but have not even touched a bow, He told me that I need a full body balance that I must present myself as a handsome charming gentle man before Her(Arrow) so she will fully fall for me. But then how do I woo an inanimate object this is ridiculous and crazy, I still remember my first day at training the white princely garment that I wore that got me the stares of humanoids, humanized beasts,Humans and creatures alike, Its now dirty like a rag pulled from a pig pond. The old teacher told me to dig a grave that he wants to bury his horse. I thought am his student but here am I doing the work of a slave. When i cameback that day it was as if I built a bungalow all alone, I was dirty as well as tired. I still remember that I skipped breakfast the next day I nearly skipped launch but the Queen ordered that I must join her. And with all this punishment I have undergone. Yep have not started the real shooting training yet. And here am I now mobbing the floor of one of the training chamber, Am sure this man likes seeing me dirty, I had to stop wearing expensive cloths just to make him forget about making me pass through the transition of dirt and mud. I don't just know why he loves mud. thinking about the slavery he has put me through all in the name of training, my head is now pounding like a home theater full music set. I threw away the rag then with a powerful kick I hit the heavy wooden bucket it didn't go flying in the air instead in just turned and spilled water on the floor. "Its really unbearable if he don't want to teach me how to aim and shoot then he should forget it am tired." Those words escaped my mouth full of rage and anger . I've already made up my mind I won't return here again, Even if am to return this old man won't be my trainer. Walking pass the wooden bucket and the wet floor. A quick fast force I saw my self falling, the wet floor made me slipped and I fell hard hitting my back , I cursed the day I told myself that this old man will be my teacher. I quickly stood up so that no body will eventually come inside and see me laying on the floor. Groaning in pains as I cleaned my gown. Taking about the devil, the old man was walking in holding his walking stick. I think its high time I teach him the lesson of his old age. "Old Pasha please to come over to this place, there is something I want to show" I had it properly planned if He walks through the slippery ground then the floor will do Justice to him I will finally get my last laugh. He started walking toward me an evil grin fill my face, He's closer, closer . "What's it that you wanted to show me?" "Eh" what just happened how did he pass he is suppose to be on the floor screaming in pains. yea I saw him closer then the ground became slippery I saw him falling while his stick went flying my smile grew. But then it seems the whole place got paused cause he performed an impossible stunt. He was falling with his back his stick was flying on the air. Then he used his left hand to balance himself self then used his right hand to grab his walking stick then he twisted his right leg forward which made him rotate on the air like a fan "bang" was the sound his stick made as I saw him standing in his old man's way. I was too surprise to speak.never have I seen such skills face to face He repeated his question which got me stammering. "M Am mm I" "Stop stammering I think you are now ready for your training," ------------------------------TODAY---------------------------------- My eyes digested the image of a mountain below it i saw an opening, it looks like a cave I ran to its direction. Its a big cave i Came closer peeped inside, It's very scary and old looks like no one have gone through it for years as spiders made designs of their choice with cobwebs. Hell no it's too dark, I can't go inside! my left hand was resting on the stone particle of the cave while my Head peeped to see if its safe , An insect bite my leg which made me bend to kill it. Its a spider dont know if it's poisonous , swift and fast noise passed my head. Thud! I turned using my eyes to search my perimeter I think someone just shot and arrow at me, It was aimed for my head but while I bent down to kill that spider it passed over my head hitting the wet wall of the cave noise fill the cave as thousands of bats started flying out of the cave making grouchy sounds that irritates the soul. ' I hate bats' Their speed and noise was too much that it made me kneel down, they flew over my head while some pitched on my flesh which I used my hands to scare them away. soon they was complete silent the bats are done with their party I think it also distracted my shooter. Cause the bats are much and if it didn't am sure by now an arrow would have found its way through my heart. I stood up saw blurry images of the group they call the Archers positioned at the bush they don't want to move closer to the cave and I certainly can't outrun them their number is too much. The odd is in their favour they have the numbers they also have weapons not any kind of weapons but a weapon of speed and distance. I still can't see them clearly as their picture are still fuzzy, I was still standing at the entrance of the cave trying to decide on what to do, should I run into the cave of just hand myself over to this Archers. But then I think they don't need my Answer. Facing me is a solution to a quick End. " Archers position" An unknown voice echoed, Beautiful figures walked in sexy short chiton. they came out from behind the bushes and trees.Now I can see them cause about ten Archer line in front, they are all females with eyes like that of a cat.carrying bow of ancient wonderful craftsmanship ,their formation was a unique one and the way they held the arrow you will agree with me that their surname is "bow and arrow" "Ready, Ready! Fire!" I was still lost looking at their arrow, and formation that I forgot totally that am facing extinction and an order have already been given for them to fire, The fast incoming object made me realise that I was standing before death. A quick solution hit me since they aimed for my heart and head laying down means dodging the whole fleet of arrows. I fell down immediately hitting my face on the ground ,it caused me to consume dirt but the trick worked as their arrows flew our my head. And went straight into the cave while some hits the entrance walls. A monstrous loud sound escaped the cave again but this time it's not the bird mammals called bats, but something else entirely. The roar blasted again which planted fear on my forehead and thiers. My brain registered a familiar incident something that happened or should I say is about to happen. Wait that's a familiar voice, it's similar to the Black pecus, then another roar which purged my doubt making it certain that its the same beast. But he still continue his lectures and I think with the little practical demonstration that he added am beginning to get what he meant by resting and seating. Balance is natures first child it was in existence before any other thing both inanimate and animates creature. Look up, you see that bird it flies because the wind gives it balance. You see that humanoid walking just watch closely, the way he walks just defined that he is far from been balance, make sure you watch and learn. Oh oh oh it's happening" A Greenman was coming over to where we stood. He hit his leg which made him fall hitting his full face to the ground. I and old Pasha had to laugh it was funny. The way he fell you will think he was drunk. But then how did he know that he will take a wrong step and fall, that's a question that I won't let go unanswered. I knew more about balance than have known since I was born or should I say been in existence. Soon the training became intense and I love every part of it. Darkness is approaching and I just felt like it shouldn't end. I love this training but I have to rest. We concluded our lesson on balance and went our separate ways. I didn't feel like eating at the Queens table. So I decided to just go inside take my shower and eat from the fruits that it always kept in my room. Climbing up the stairs while rehearsing the balance theory, my eyes was positioned every moving object even the one's that stood still. Stood by the entrance of my door my head just solved and equation. ,'I get it , now I do. Balance features everything and everyone even magic' I had to try it. I raised my left hand I could feel the right element. I concentrate the more then a little wind blew . smile filled my face 'Yes , Yes I did it' I was one step ahead have learnt about balance. focus was something I solved myself. I opened my door A plate of delicious meal greeted me and I saw a letter written in English on top of the plate. "She wants to see you that's why she told me to prepare this food for you" Those where the contents of the letter. So the Queen wants to see me nice one I need to look good before she arrives. 'Shower, yep' I did that quickly then dressed up I decided to eat without wasting time, the plate was not empty but I was empty cause I felt very dizzy. 'Oh let it not be that i just consumed poison again' Those where my last words before I fell on the bed not knowing what the next minute holds. --------------------------------TODAY-------------------------- "Formation for elimination," Why won't this ladies just go back to their husband's and stop this hunt they are trying to rehearse on me. About thirty more ladies matched forward they made a deadly formation., twenty kneeling and twenty standing their only thought was to kill me .but what will they say i did to them ,peaceful travellers on a mission .three men already dead remaining just me.I can defend myself but not against all this people they are too much. I must confess I thought about magic it's not too strong am still in my novice stage, two death cards kept before me. With options that have little or no positive outcome. its either I enter into the cave and face what so ever is inside or I stand here and die by the fierce arrows of these beautiful but deadly ladies "Aim for elimination of threat Ready! Fire," Am inbetween the devil and the blue sea,two choice kept before me but am not to decide as they've chosen the dark cave to be my doom, and arrows to be the persecutor or object of death. I can't just end here I ran as fast as I could deep into the cave. I saw a turn at the right which I made 'Thud! Thud,!! thud,!!! thud!!!' Was the sounds of arrows as some fell down while some penetrated the walls of the cave. Still standing at the point i turned, to escape the incoming arrows aimed to extinguish the life out of me. expecting a positive impossible outcome My eyes have adjusted a little to the darkness that covered the cave due to the place I made a turn is still close to the entrance and little percent of light illuminate inside I peeped through and saw the ladies still standing receiving order from someone I could not see but I know she is some sort of their commander. I saw about twenty ladies matching inside the cave with touches of fire.soon they were close to where I am standing. I was making steps backward still looking at there lights as it keeps coming closer and brighter. "WooooooooooooooooooooooooH" Was the scream that escaped my mouth as I felt my self falling down a deep pit..then . "Bap! bap!! bap!!! bap!!!! bap!!!" Was the sound my body made while hitting things that look like roots that ran across the pit. My fall was like forever but it was just seconds as I continued screaming .finally a big "Thud" my body hit the ground making a big sound as excruciating; pain overcame my breath. My whole body felt like life was drained from it then I passed out. I couldnt tell time but i know it was hours after i passed out. I was paralyzed for some few minutes, it took all the energy in my body to turn around before spiting out dirt and grass from my mouth. I look up I couldn't see the top of the pit or light all I could see is darkness thick as blood. striving harder I turned and remove a witch light giving to me then followed the instruction by rubbing the crystal shell on my head, light shown but not that bright, at least I can see the next step I take, so to amplifier it I need blood, I then spit on it which gave a brighter light but the darkness was still thick. I Used the light to look where am seated cause I felt something eerie below. "Holy .Holy Holy Salad ceeam" I exclaimed in a fearful and frightened manner. I immediately stood up using my witch touch to look around. "Tear my cloth,this is Hell in the making" The whole place was filled with bones of dead people, did I cross into hell when I fell from the pit or died when I fell down, Can someone be alive and still go to hell. Where is this place, my only way of direction is the blue map which is clued with an arrow to a tree. In four words "have lost my map" <><<<>>>>>>>>>. <><><><<>>><<<><<<<<<<<<<><>> Gud night ...
