Are passport photographs generally "not fine" or is it just me?

Both pictures were taken yesterday in a space of 30minutes.

The passport photographer retook the shots severally and we eventually ended up with this

So please, have you ever taken a good passport? Please show us.

My passport photographs are the absolute worst. My driver license photos always turn out great for some reason.

One is a "padded" photo and the other a.........real passport photo.

Adjoinder:
1. Both pictures where taken 30mins apart. In essence, its the same make up on both pictures

2. My make up routine as always is fairly simple. Yesterday, it was Vaseline and white (Enchanter) powder only. I also applied eyepencil. But no brown powder, no foundation.

3. Maybe the camera of passport photographs come is low quality pixels. In the picture on the left, I used the front camera of my phone. No edits. Any yea, the lighting of both rooms are different.

4. Its not only about this picture, most passports I have taken since I was a kid, always comes up "not fine". In the exception of my JAMB passport

I know this is not peculiar with me. Don't take it too seriously

Were the pictures taken with the same camera?Did you consider the lighting too?

Having the same issue, esp cos I hv to remove my glasses so a slightly different face with eyes swollen at times. The thing is if u want a very good one, go to a studio not roadside wait and take.

All my passports come out nice except my waec passport photograph

Abeg na which of the two be the passport, because the one you're supposed to keep a straight face is the one you're smiling in.

I also think passport pictures are not always fine, maybe it depends on the shape of head.

They look okay, to me.

My passport is still a kid photo, but my drivers licenses tend to turn out great, except for that first one @ 16 that I still have

That said, I don't think it's anything to worry about. It looks like a matter of the camera quality.

@OP: I love your eyebrows and to answer your question, I don't think passport size photographs do justice to most people.
