Large crowd followed Jesus as he came down the mountainside. Suddenly a man with leprosy approached him and knelt before him. “Lord” the man said, “If you are willing, you can heal me and make me clean” Jesus reached out and touched him. “I am willing,” he said, “Be healed!” And instantly the leprosy disappeared.” Matthew 8:1-3

The man with the leprosy was not ashamed to come out in the public where there were thousands of people following Jesus, I am sure within those crowd will be many more sick people who did not ask to be healed either because of shame or because of fear.

What does this tell you- that going to church is not the solution to your problem, but digesting the word of God and communing with Him is the solution to your problem. Many go to church but don’t receive anything from God because they have gone there as spectators and not to receive the word of God.

Just like the crowd that followed Jesus many of them were just spectators who wanted to see what the man of God is capable of doing, they have heard many stories of His miracles and wanted to see for themselves.

But this man with the leprosy stood out and asked Jesus, “Lord if you are willing, you can heal me and make me clean”

And instantly Jesus touched him and he was healed.

People are not getting the things they desire because they don’t ask God. Sometimes when they ask, they don’t ask with faith.

When you ask God, you will receive what you ask for. The bible says, knock the door and it will be opened, seek and you will find, ask and it shall be given unto you.

Why not ask Him today. Whatsoever your heart desire is, as long as it doesn’t contradict God’s plan, He is able to do even more than you can ask. Be it a prolonged health issue, financial breakthrough, career breakthrough, addiction of all sorts, God is able to deliver you from all of it. Just ask Him.

Be like that man in Matthew 8:1-3 who out of the crowd following Jesus, put his shame behind and asked Jesus to heal him. He received an immediate healing from God.
