Vs

Stoke continued with good performances having taken a point from Bolton and they are now hoping to surprise United after the unlucky defeat to Chelsea in their last home game.Stoke are playing extremely well this season and they are proving to be a very serious team. They face a difficult task against United but even though the visitors are likely to take control of the game, the Potters will threaten from counterattacks and set-pieces. Tony Pulis’ side scored at least one goal in all home games this season and they have a good chance to score one past Kuszczak, who is expected to start in goal for United. The Potters are extremely physical side and they will not be afraid to foul United players if they cannot stop them within the rules. They wouldn’t mind getting a couple of bookings if that is the price to pay for the good result and one of their players is bound to be the first to get a yellow card in this match. As was to be expected The Potters continue to be a tough nut to crack at home. At the Britannia they have dispatched of Burnley and Sunderland and were unlucky to lose to a resilient Chelsea side earlier this month. Signalling progress they probably should have also picked up more points away from home after dominating the matches at Birmingham and Bolton. There is no shortage of talent in this Stoke side with Rory Delap, Ryan Shawcross, Dave Kitson, James Beattie and Tuncay. Ricardo Fuller is a doubt for this match. Also Amdy Faye and Mamady Sidibé.

Manchester United come into this match on the back of four excellent results in the Premier League since their surprise defeat at Turf Moor, but the team are yet to reach their top form. They seem to be playing just enough to win the games, since they won 6 out of 8 games this season by the narrowest of margins. Seeing that the visitors face a very difficult job against Stoke, another narrow win is expected. The Red Devils rode their luck to beat Arsenal but the wins over Wigan, Spurs and Manchester City were emphatic and in recent weeks they have begun to look like the team to beat in the Premier League.Wayne Rooney has been in sensational form with six goals in the league so far,. All eyes will be on Owen who was the saviour for United in the clash with City, while Danny Wellbeck scored the winning goal against Wolves, The 18-year-old striker scored on his debut against Stoke last season and will also be keen for an opportunity although he will likely only come off the bench, and Ferguson wouldn’t mind seeing someone else bringing him all the points from Britannia Stadium.United are still without Edwin van der Sar, Rafael and Owen Hargreaves.dokitor asst grin

Re: Stoke City (0) Vs Manchester United (2) On Saturday September 26 2009 by tipsydude(m): 2:12pm On Sep 26, 2009
It's quite obvious that whenever MAN UTD have a game, be it against Kano Pillars or even Opebi First Eleven, people wish them failure and when they come out tops like they are wont to do, the blame is on bad officiating or favoritism. If SAF did not bribe the ref, then the Queen herself must have given him strict instructions to make the game last 180mins. Can't you guys see that all the hate seem to feed the strength of the RED laddies? Be it as it may, the lads have got the juice and no one can deny them that. The season is still young and it the rate UTD are going, even the blind can attest to the fact that they can only get better. So turn up the hate guys, vent all you can but remember that they don't browse Nairaland. hahahahahahahaha.

Re: Stoke City (0) Vs Manchester United (2) On Saturday September 26 2009 by Cristalz(f): 4:07pm On Sep 26, 2009
You guessed wrong. It's very fast-paced. United are the better side, but Stoke's pressing quite hard.
Both sides are just refusing to break defensively.
