When a conquered people want to dictate who the victorious side regard as a hero. He fought in the war, he was military head of state who first espoused the concept of patriotism and personal sacrifice for the good of the country. He remains a Nigerian hero without regard to Biafran opinion. 4 Likes |

kstix:I really wish you could see this as a discourse rather than an argument or debate. That maybe you cited wikipedia in your project as you alluded and pulled through doesn't make it right. Those references you want me to look at at every bottom page of a wiki article are the citations you should rather be using not the wiki page for some portions of the wiki article would have come from them hence the reference. Get this straight sir, i can login with a wikipedia account today and change MM's profile on Wikipedia to be that of Ambode's own and it will only take time before someone else will notice that and either report or re-edit it back. I've attached a screen shot of my attempt to edit the page for you.

I may certainly not like the tone of the OP but he's right. Mohammed shouldn't be there so long as Fajuyi and Ironsi aren't It's simple |

StOla:Without regard to biafran opinion? As if biafrans are not people under the Nigerian jungle. This is the same mofo that would later accuse the so-called biafrans of hate and not showing patriotism to Nigeria. He expects biafrans to show patriotism to a nation that does not respect them. |

pazienza:I keep wondering why at every post that relates to the Northerners written probably by someone from the SE, a yoruba person or people are usually the ones who defend them tooth and nail even if it is detrimental to their well being. I notice these things in all post. I think I need to do more research on this behavioural tendency. Whenever a story is written about the north, u see northerners defend them selves but have more yorubas defending. More. I see this very well on nairaland and facebook. I wonder why that's so. Just them. They never see anything wrong with the hausas |

meccuno: The destiny of Yorubaland is tied to those of Arewa. I joke not when I speak of an Arewa-Odua amalgam, it's a reality that scares the hell out of them. Ndiigbo must undersand the existence of this amalgam. Yorubas are part of the North as we have Yorubas in Kwara and Kogi, and further more the Rest of them in SW are connected to Arewa via Islam and via blood relationship with those of them in Kwara and Kogi. Anything that affects Arewa will affect Yorubas in Arewa and then those of them in SW who are muslims. It's a bond that they got themselves entwined in and can't untangle, which is the exact reason the idea of Nigeria disintegration scares the hell out of them. 1 Like 1 Share |

kross01: Any wander why we're failing and will continue to fail as a nation? We celebrate the evil and punish the good. We celebrate the mediocre and hinder the brilliant. We reward criminals and punish the pious. How can we go forward? @ poster, thank you, our soul as a nation is under bondage and should be free from evil images like those of MM, Sarduana, and othman dan Fodio. |

pazienza: Lol okay keep reverring Nnamdi kanu like ojukwu was reverred till he led more than 3 million Yeeebos to extermination. Shattap. Murtala Mohammed is a civil war hero. He played his role in silencing Biafra. Lets not talk about the great Benjamin Adekunle whose sting makes the people land of red mud cry with terror. 1 Like |

Neddstark: Lol! Too bad your incompetent Murtala was butchered like a Salah Ram, your Adekunle was disgracefully discharged from the Army with no pension or gratuity, and eventually died a pauper rejected by his own people, so much that none was merciful enough to pay for his medical bills. These are the type of men you worship in your Sharia Islamic caliphate of Arewa-Odualand ? 1 Like |

That fellow was a criminal and serial coupist... he spear headed the killings during the counter coup of 1967 which produced gowon and he then even overthrew gowon because he was not a Northern muslim.. dimika another sorry case fortunately ended murtalas coup ploting days.. |

parisbookaddict: It is shocking that some Nigerians are hailing Murtala that he fought in the civil war even though he commited war crimes and on top of that, failed woefully as a Military Officer in a war situation due to his bad leadership qualities. It is shocking that a man who killed so many people in cold blood is seen as a model citizen worth emulating and honouring on on the N20 It is shocking that a man who shot his way to power through coup plotting and went on to abuse power in many despicable ways is the same person people think is a patriot It is shocking but not surprising. Nigerians have a long history of honouring any criminal who manages to acquire money or power or both. |
