Court Re-affirms Sheriff’s Sack As PDP Chairman by jamesibor: 7:18pm On Aug 17, 2016
Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has re-affirmed the sack of Sen. Ali Modu Sheriff as the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The court, presided over by Justice Nwamaka Ogbonnaya, reaffirmed the sack on the ground that the judgment of Justice Valentine Ashi, which nullified his appointment on June 29 has not been set aside or vacated and is therefore subsisting.

The court further held that all actions taken by Sen Sherif are null, void and of no effect since the earlier order of Justice Ashi remains binding

The Court restrained Sen. Sheriff from further parading himself as the National Chairman of the PDP.

Justice Ogbonnaya also ruled that Sen. Sherif should stop taking any action or convening any meeting in the name of the PDP, until the earlier judgment of Justice Valentine Ashi is set aside or vacated.

Justice Ashi had in his judgment nullified the 2014 PDP Constitution amendment upon which Senator Sheriff is said to have been appointed as PDP Chairman.

The court described the amendment of the party’s constitution as illegal and a violation of the Electoral Act and, therefore, declared all actions carried out with the document, including anybody parading him or herself as officer of the party as illegal.

The leadership of the party has been faced with series of court orders after the controversial Port Harcourt National Convention which gave birth to the Makarfi-led Caretaker Committee.

Sen. Sheriff had challenged the legality of the Caretaker Committee, insisting he is the rightful leader of the party.

However, the court voided the said amendment on the basis that there was no compliance with mandatory provisions of Article 66 (2) and (3) of the PDP constitution.

“By reason of the above, the purported amendments introduced to the constitution on the aforesaid dates, are hereby set-aside.

“All persons, individuals, servants or agents of PDP parading themselves as national officers of the PDP pursuant to the purported amendment which has now been nullified are hereby restrained from further parading themselves in these capacities “, Justice Ashi said.

Buhari and Ali Modu Sheriff are in-laws, but their gang up to destroy PDP will backfire on them and their zombie supporters

Thunder fire Ali Modu Sheriff

Thunder fire Justice Abang Okon

Thunder fire Buhari

Thunder fire APC

Thunder fire APC Zombies

The Judge affirmed the earlier decision of an Abuja High Court sacking Ali Modu Sheriff.

Ali Modu Sheriff remains sacked

This judgement now brings to 4 the number of differeent Federal High Court Judges who in their seperate rulings have affirmed that Ali Modu Sheriff is not PDP Chairman.

Only the bastard and slowpoke called Justice Abang Okon keep contradicting the rulings of other Federal High Courts.

God bless PDP

I doubt if PDP can everly remain d same... But its a shame on our judiciary, how can counter judgement be coming up on daily basis, Dont we have CJN that can be neutral and stop all this embarrassment from the judiciary...

If PDP where to be wise this is the time to bury their hatchets and give APC a virile opposition but clash of interest won't allow that come to fruition.

But our judicial system seem more confused than the common man who is running helter smelter

All this courts re all court of coordinate jurisdiction . Until appeal court say so sherif still remains the authentic chairman of pipeline destroying party. Why re both parties afraid of court of appeal? Any ways let them continue the fight cos a house divided cannot stand. Pdp shame

for all u above crying "what sort of judiciary we have" calm down, PDP is been served exactly what they deserve. The idea here is to use conflicting court orders to inflict discord as much as possible, while Sheriff is there as resident evil to do the final blow. When Mu'azu was embattled after general elections 2015, he cried out and said: 'PDP have the habit of use and dump', end of quote! PDP uses anyone they want and dump when they feel your usefulness is exhausted. It all changed when Sheriff was on his own and they called him to help fix the party, he came and the use and dump strategy backfired on PDP this time.
