THE General Superintendent of Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor Williams Kumuyi, on Sunday, said since Nigeria got independence in 1960, its economy had been oscillating between numbing distress and fatal anaemia.

Kumuyi, while speaking during his sermon at an interdenominational church Service as part of the programmes to mark the 49th Independence Day celebration on October 1, held at the National Christian Centre, Abuja, urged leaders and the followers to resist corruption at all levels, saying corruption had been responsible for Nigeria woes.

“Nigeria’s economy has hardly enjoyed stable health since independence. It has oscillated between numbing distress and fatal anaemia. “The global meltdown is not responsible for our economic maladies because before meltdown begins, Nigeria’s economy was in practical terms, in sickening pulp,” he stated.

Kumuyi, speaking further, said even though there was hope in the present leadership of the country, the future wealth and health of the nation was dependent on the collective willingness to repent from the wrong doings.

He tasked the Federal Government on the need to diversify the nation’s economy, while expressing worry on the neglect of agriculture that used to be the country’s source of economy.

Pastor Kumuyi said the fact that only 40 per cent of Nigerians had access to electricity “bears the tell-tale of collapse of the existing infrastructure that marks years of a feeble economy in the country.”

Senate President, David Mark, in his speech urged Nigerians to be prepared to take away corruption and bring about honesty and justice into governance in the country.

He spoke on the need for unity through religious tolerance, expressing hope that the National Assembly would continue to work with the executive arm of the government in delivering the dividend of democracy to the people.

And so?
Did we even deserve a draw in that match? May be it was his prayer that gave us an undeserved draw instead of a loss

^^^^ I think Kumuyi is a straightforward man . . . . . I have much respect for him than any other Nigerian pastor.

I think so too, but when you get into the public domain and make utterances you expose yourself to the frailty of the system.
He should not come out like Adeboye (King Maker) is doing and all would be fine

Much as I can't stand self-appointed messengers of God,  Kumuyi blocks no highways with traffic from his church, and he makes no show of sucking up to Nigeria's "repentant" treasury looters in the way Pastor Eunuch Adejale does for a living.

If Nigerians must consume the opium of religious indoctrination, Kumuyi is one of the more benign preachers to provide that weekly fix, in addition to his being one of Nigeria's most formidable mathematicians, who can at a glance solve complex equations that would take lesser mortals a page or more of calculations to unravel.

@ Jakumo
its a round complex cycle of clean white sheets and messy pigs. When the clean white sheet start accsing the swiny fellow of his insalubrious inclinations, he is most likely going to be cajoled by the pig to help clean him up. sooner or later the white clothe would see reasons with the pig and end up defeated.
There are several clothes inside the pen which were all white (at least to our eyes) before, LET KUMUYI learn from then. Stay off Nigeran Politics unless you are the BLEACH itself!
