Ladies and gentlemen, fellow Nigerians, a dangerously fraudulent action bordering on mindless forgery is presently rocking the Rivers PDP as it relates to the controversial Tai election result.

On Tuesday the 23/8/2016, exactly by 6:33 pm, Pastor Jerry Needam, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Bro Felix Obuah, Rivers State PDP Chairman, issued a press statement titled "Court Order Stopping Declaration Of Result In Tai LGA, Commendable – PDP" in which he informed Nigerians that a Federal High Court in Port Harcourt presided over by Hon Justice A.M Liman had issued an injunction stopping INEC from declaring the Tai election result.

In the said press statement, Pastor Jerry Needam had stated thus:

"Ruling in a suit brought by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP against the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Resident Electoral Commissioner for Rivers State and another, the Judge also restrained INEC from announcing any results in the Local Government Area of the State which election was subsequently suspended by INEC"

"He further restrained INEC from announcing any results or figures howsoever generated or compiled purporting to be result of the re-run election for any or all of Khana, Bonny, Gokana, Andoni, Eleme and Tai Local Government Areas of Rivers State or any part of the re-run election scheduled for March 19, 2016 which election was subsequently suspended or postponed".

But it has turned out that no such court order was issued on the 23/8/2016. In fact, Hon. Justice Liman, who is said to be outside the country for over three weeks now on a vacation with his family did not seat in any court or anywhere else to issue any injunction against INEC on the 23/8/2016.

Further painstaking investigation has also revealed the following:

Justice Liman who doubles as the administrative Judge of the Port Harcourt division of the Federal High Court and the Judge of court 1 thereof, never sat on 23/8/16 as claimed by the desperate PDP chairman, Mr Felix Obuah and Pastor Jerry Needam. It's also true that Justice Liman is not a vacation judge, as courts 2 and 4 are the vacation courts in the division. You may wish to ascertain the veracity of this information that the case SUIT NO: FHC/CS/523/2016 was not listed in court 2 which sat on the said 23/8/2016. It's equally noteworthy that Justice Liman had adjourned the case which PDP referred to in its press statement to 23/9/16 (23rd September, 2016) and not 23/8/16 (23rd August, 2016).

Pastor Jerry Needam's fraudulent press statement was published in the Guardian Newspaper of August 24, 2016, on page 12, and other national newspapers with the clear intention to deceive members of the public into believing that Justice Liman of the Federal High Court issued injunction against INEC stopping it from releasing the Tai election result on the 23/8/2016.

From the foregoing, it's clear that the court order which Pastor Jerry Needam, Bro Felix Obuah and Hon Samuel Nwanosike, the Publicity Secretary of Rivers PDP have been flaunting bearing the date 23/8/2016 purportedly issued by Hon Justice Liman was fraudulently concocted to bamboozle INEC and deceive members of the public. That is what Governor Wike's PDP is doing in Rivers State.

Same fabricated court order bearing the date 23/8/2016 was flaunted when Dr. Jacobson Mbina, candidate of PDP for Eleme/Tai/Oyigbo Federal Constituency and Hon Sylver Ngbah, candidate of PDP for Rivers State House of Assembly, Tai Constituency jointly address a press conference yesterday wherein they dished tissues of lies to members of the public.

This is the kind of jungle Nyesom Wike's PDP has unfortunately turned Rivers State into.

The desperation that has led Rivers PDP into this reprehensible act of forgery is in keeping with Governor Nyesom Wike's vow to stop Senator Magnus Abe from being elected by his constituents into the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, a constituency the Senator enjoys overwhelming support.

The action of the Rivers PDP and the aforementioned persons is contemptuous, irresponsible and designed to bring the Nigerian judiciary into disrepute.

We are therefore calling on the Police and DSS to investigate this case of forgery in the name of a Federal High Court Judge and prosecute the culprits in accordance with the laws of Nigeria.

We are also calling on the NJC to swiftly investigate this show of shame and cause the culprits to be brought to justice.

Never should this madness be allowed to be swept under the carpet.
