In a recent encounter with the spokesperson of the Kano Emirate, Dutse Emirate, & Katagum Emirate by our newsmen in Kano, the spokepersons have indicated that their Emirates are ready, willing, and praying for the Actualization of an Independent Arewa States out of Nigeria. This is the first time since Nigeria's Independence that any of the Emirates ever claimed to support a secession movement.

In reply to the letter sent by the Movement for the Actualization of an Independent States of Arewa (MAISA). The emirates have promised their full support to the movement, but however ascertain their demand for peaceful negotiations at all times with the Nigerian Authorities. They also demand the movement further consultations each time they are taking any further action. Complaining that the formation of Nigeria as it is today is an err, and has become a necessity for each of the three major ethnic groups to rule their own people, quoting a remark by the former Emir of Gwandu, that "Nigeria is a country of 3 slaved Nations, and these Nations need to be freed sooner or later!"

Since its inception, MAISA has though remain carrying its activities in secret, however, they've revealed a new flag in recent months which they will be using throughout the movements activities, and earlier source indicates that it is the intended flag of Arewa Republic.

In a similar event, the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) have indicate their readiness and willingness to support MAISA in carrying out its peaceful secession activities.

All efforts made to contact an official of MAISA by Labarai.com have failed, however an email message received from someone claiming to be from MAISA is still unconfirmed.
