"Islam is a religion of peace"

We've all heard this before, yet why is Islamic extremism associated with suicide bombings, beheadings, sexism, misogyny, mob attacks and genocide? If Islam was a religion of peace shouldn't an extremist of Islam be a vehement advocator of peace? It makes no sense. And if you're a christian reading this thread - you're probably thinking "Yes Islam is stupid! Islam should be illegal, all they do is kill people". You don't realize the irony of your position.

Islamic extremists are called terrorists. What do you call Christian extremists? Pastors . You might think that there is no such thing as Christian terrorists but that's where you are sadly mistaken. These pastors every Sunday deceive the masses with lies of imaginary mansions in an imaginary heaven. Telling them the only way to get there is to follow what God says. And Co incidentally they are the voice of god.

Christianity is dangerous because in its tennets, it says it is morally superior to believe things that you cannot see than to believe things that have overwhelming evidence for them (the big bang theory, evolution). It is morally superior to pray if you're sick than go out and buy medicine. ("do not put your trust in man for it is foolishness". It teaches that knowledge is evil therefore everyone should be backwards. It teaches that praying is morally superior than actually working towards what you want. It teaches that it's followers should cast their worries unto a imaginary being.

This false hope and belief in miracles is dangerous. Look at our country, no body wants to work towards achieving Greatness and improving the country through scientific exploits because religion has convinced them that science/knowledge is evil. Christianity has successfully put nigerians In a mental prison that prevents them from seeing past their religion. After all anything that isn't written in the bible is evil.

The bible has been used to justify slavery, child executions, misogyny, murder, genocide, discrimination against homosexuality and transgenders and list doesn't even stop there. Religion is clearly anti-science and any nation that takes religion too seriously will clearly get nowhere. Citing this country as an example. Only when a significant population of nigeria abandon the shackles of religion will this country progress scientifically and technologically.

As Christians we are encouraged to be hardworking, because "God will only bless the works of our hands" laziness and slothfulness is not part of the Christian doctrine. Christians are always taught to emulate their father's in the faith eg Abraham Isaac Jacob, who were known as hardworking people. Miracle is not an excuse for laziness, and Expectation of favour without labour will cause poverty. So your view about the Christian doctrine is very generalized and erroneous.

In the problem is Religion! Every religion is Associated With A Holy Book! Ain't their fault if they follow it cause it's God Word

Newton was very religious Where did U get this idea from did he spend 24hr Every day praying to God to bless him and curse his enemies? Did he even ever go to Church? I tell U if he spent all of his life being very religious as U put it he wouldn't have discovered what he is known for.

@Eye hate God, being religious doesn't necessarily mean clapping of hands and feigning piety. I actually meant that he believed strongly in God.

The holy book is not the problem, those that misinterpret what it contains, in order to exploit people are the problem.
