If anybody builds to that level on your land then you hire a bulldozer and demolish it without going to court, then you are in trouble if the person that built it wants to make trouble. Buildings don't go up in one day. Was the land owner sleeping when his land was trespassed? The law detests such negligence.

This is why your land in Lagos should be verified,then reverified and then finally verify it with another lawyer different from your lawyer.

Especially if it is in places like Lekki and Ajah. The pictures here might make it look bad that a house is getting pulled down,but the owner of the house might have built it on somebody's else land,that he bought from fraudsters.

That's the bitter truth.
The law says the owner of the land is also the owner of whatever is built on it,so the real owner could even have claimed the property as well.
However in the even that a developer mistakenly buys another persons property from the land fraudsters aka omoniles,all he needed to do was to make a passionate appeal to the real owner to allow him do ratification on the land,which basically means he will buy it again from the real owner this time.The k leg here is that the real owner may refuse to play ball and ask the developer to remove his building from his land,he will give him time to do so,failing which he will get a quick injunction to pull down the property.
This is the reason we MUST NEVER pay for any land till we have done all necessary due diligence

What you said is true if you make reference to the legal maxim which says 'that which is on the land and affixed to the land belongs to the owner of the land', there is however another maxim which says 'delay defeats equity' and the latter maxim most times superceeds the former because some trouble loving people sleep on their right and start disturbing the courts later.

The property destroyed is behind DOMINION CITY CHURCH BY LBS, There was no prior notice for demolition, the land was surveyed and is free from government acquisition. three bulldozer with Police were used to carryout this act. they claimed they were from ministry of physical and urban planning that the order came and is from the commissioner. the lands in question is not on any high tension or pipeline route. is a residential area. a total of six houses where demolished.
