Retail sector? Can we start with retail space first, retail companies etc. Retail sector is not something of the lip!

First of all

Your entire retail sector sales can only be compared to that of Ivory Coast ...

No more noise here, Despite the fact that your country population is almost twice that of Ghana.

Idiot,so the above is what is stopping you from surpassing us in retail space.

We're in 2022, Let's see the e-commerce data. You can dominate in retail sector but you won't have a say in retail space, which matters most in 2022.

Retail sector does not equate to economy cool
ask any retail company what matters most to them and they will tell you that their sales matters the most. grin grin

Now you are claiming retail does not equate to economy because your retail sales is tiny ? grin

Just look for what gross domestic product is and you'll see why retail sector is one of the most important.

One of Africa's largest Ship Yards and some of the most preferred on the continent, after Shipyards in South Africa, Egypt and probably Morocco and maybe Nigeria..

PSC Tema shipyard .... Been in operation since 1965 and handle 578 vessels in 2019.

Your retail sector is only competing with Ivory Coast our neighbor at around 10 billion dollars in sales .... That is how small your economy is...
Yes we have a bigger PPP, bigger GDP per Capita, a higher HDI, a bigger disposable income, a tiny unemployment rate.....

How can your tiny economy not have all of that and you want to compare with us?
Check out the IMF data.

https://www.imf.org/external/datamapper/index.php

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_African_countries_by_GDP_(PPP)

According to the International Monetary Fund, the four top African countries posted GDPs of more than $500 billion (INT) in 2020:

Top 10 Richest African Countries by Overall GDP (INT$ at PPP — International Monetary Fund 2021)
Egypt - $1.38 trillion
Nigeria - $1.14 trillion
South Africa - $861.93 billion
Algeria - $532.57 billion
Morocco - $302.77 billion
Ethiopia - $298.57 billion
Kenya - $269.29 billion
Angola - $217.97 billion
Ghana - $193.63 billion
Sudan - $189.87 billion
In terms of total GDP (PPP INT$),

Your PPP is insignificant.
Our per capita is bigger than yours, if you use 46m with our current GDP - $109b.
Employment rate means nothing - I can be self-employed but earning more than the employed.
Man - your country Is so tiny and insignificant.

Retail contributes to the economy but it does not equate to the economy.

Retail space is more important than retail sales - this is not rocket science.

But for me, it's quality over quantity. I hope understand what mean.

Retail sales comes first to any retailer .... They know they will most definitely get a retail space ..

Now you are running to quality and quantity argument?

It doesn't even play in retail

Your PPP per capita is 5000 dollars despite your tiny population - you only edge Kenya in pp per capita due to your insignificant population.

Of course, retail sales should come first for any retailer. But here, we're talking about the consumer - the majority!!!

In this sector, quality matters for consumers - quantity goes for retailers.
