Sony music is a top global record label and doesn't sign just any artiste. You have to have real talent to work with them. So, here is sony gently passing a vote of no confidence on Davido.

And this reminds me, those Nigerian musicians; like Wizkid, going to US hanging with US artists hoping to have them help launch their career in the US are wasting their time. Its not Nigeria where favouritsm can get you a position. In the US you must merit a position to have it. Even your father could own a record label in the US and not sign you, if the talent isn't there. Just take a look at the ''American idol'' and the number of talents that suffer elimination as good as they are!..

Nothing kills a label like signning untalented artists. This's why Don Jazzy's label would soon go under, because he dwelt on signing family and friends instead of talents. Aside Tiwa there's nobody on the label.

So you can understand why Sony music wouldn't want to sign an untalented musician.
