intoxication only works as defence if you didnt know...eg someone cooked food with hemp and u ate it without knowing or your drink was laced with an intoxicating substance and you drank it without knowing...in this cases if you commit an offence, you can claim intoxication as defence

@op you forgot to include lawfully marrying 2 wives at the same time. There's a law in Nigeria that states that you cannot be lawfully wed someone while still lawfully wedded to another person. If you are sued and found guilty, you could be sentenced to 7 years imprisonment.
