Good morning house!

We would be building a house starting from next week.
This is the plan the architect drew for me for a four bedroom bungalow. This bungalow will serve as my main residential house.

As they say, two heads are better than one. I would like the house and experts to criticize this plan and offer their views and ideas.

-Kitchen and Dining should be near each other since d kitchen service d dining
-Avoid long lobby
-Cross ventilate ur rooms since there's no assurance of constant light in Nigeria
-What is dat opening between d master bedroom & shop meant for? Why d link by d masters bedroom?

The link between the shop and master's bedroom is a porch/verandah

I know you won't be having ANY omo onile issues

Personally, the whole design seems off to me, so I'll pass on any recommendation.

Looks really off aside what has already been said about the location of kichen it is really small and not functional the living rooms hmmm....

"nd advice, interchange the location of ur kitchen with teh bedroom behind ur dinning area,I do not know what kind of person would design your house in that way.I aint a pro even I know thats wrong, he needs to work harder

I don't know what to say. I am not good at interpreting architectural designs. If it were close to me, I would have just take a walk inside and come out and tell you what I feel.

Architects do not draw such a poor design. At first I thought you drew it yourself. The labeling is bad, the relationships of one room to the other is poor. Please regularise the room sizes, volumes within and fix that passage that is like a maze. And remember to use doors with large glass panels that will allow natural light from the bathroom reach the passage, that is if enough light even reaches the bathroom and toilet seeing how close it is to the next building.

kitchen not close enough to dining.
You living room has part of it avoidably 'eaten up' by the master bedroom lobby.
Your passage is going to be dark even in the day time; that's bad.

Sorry bro.... Buh for me I think that plans need a Re-order

I use Revit Architecture from Autodesk.. The creators of Autocad.. More pictures below

The picture quality is bad though so I can't really see the dimensions.

Wait! Is that a toilet located within the verandaSo guests or anyone will have to step outside to use the loo This alone is proof that this plan was drawn by a "draftsman" and not a qualified/well trained architect.

The guest toilet should be accessible via a door from inside the sitting room without stepping outside to the veranda so ask your guy to change that.

What is the size of the land? Why is the shop attached to the main building Can't it be constructed as a stand-alone small structure? Even if it's part of the main building, why is it linked to the master bedroom? That alone is just all shades of wrong. You should be able to have a good view from the master bedroom but the shop has blocked that.

What is the kitchen doing between two bedrooms ? That's wrong!! The kitchen should be well ventilated and located before any bedroom but as close to the sitting room/dining rooom as possible.

Tell your guy that you are not happy with what he has come up with. Tell him your concerns and ask him to come up with something else/better.

Ok

1. Create a back door/escape route in the kitchen

2. Some of the door openings direction are misleading, tell your architect to do a professional job by correcting the bad errors.

3. What is that step down between the sitting room and the dining for?

4. As already pointed out by others, this design needs a total overhauling eg move dining close to the kitchen, work on the cross ventilation, allow the visitors toilet to be accessible from the sitting room etc

imagine a kitchen sharing a partition with the M b/room

there's no proper cross ventilation for the M b/room

I think it would be a bit better (still poor anyway) if there's a swap between the M b/room and the kitchen
