My point is that Alvez is a very good defender. . .add that to his excellent attacking prowess and u have urself an excellent fullback. This whole myth that Alvez is not a good defender is far from reality.

he must be great at defending, the award didn't say best attacker+defender or did it.

Maldini,Baresi,Nesta,Cannavaro, fernando Hierro weren't regarded as the best defenders at their peak because of the attacking threat they
