*Asks President to return country to how he met it

Olusola Fabiyi, Abuja

The Peoples Democratic Party has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to leave office immediately.

But before quitting, the former ruling party asked the President to return the country to how he met it when he assumed office on May 29, 2015.

Spokesperson and a member of the party’s National Caretaker Committee, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, stated this in a statement he signed in Abuja on Wednesday.

The former minister of state for works said that his party was not happy with the state of affairs in the country.

He specifically mentioned the statement credited to the Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun that, “recession is a word”.

Adeyeye said, “Is this statement as a result of ignorance, lack of patriotism or in-line with President Buhari’s comment that his ministers are noise makers?

“For the record, recession is characterised as a period of negative economic growth for two consecutive quarters, given rise to high rate of unemployment, fall in output, increase in government borrowing, etc.

“Following this understanding, Nigeria’s economy is already near depression. The crass ineptitude and lukewarm-attitude of this All Progressives Congress government is no longer tolerable, and therefore, we are calling on President Buhari and his team to return Nigeria to its state of booming economy before they assumed office in May, 2015, and then quit immediately to allow other capable leaders recover our ailing economy”.

Adeyeye alleged that about three airlines, local and international, and some banks, have allegedly suspended operations and sent their staff on indefinite leave due to poor state of the Nigeria’s economy.

He said that Nigerians were aware that the PDP government invested heavily in most of the nation’s airports, an action he said resulted to alleged ‘facelift’ and improved operations through remodelling, construction of new airports, refurbishing and equipping of the local and international airports to meet best practices in the aviation industry.

The Truth.

Even if PDP a were bunch of peculators/looters like some people pontificate about them, but the fact that they demonstrated rationality, diligence proficiency in their administration is inconfutable and cozy.
For instance, some of Jonathan's policies and programmes were evaluated by the World Bank and other reputable int'l economic organisations as some of the most effective programmes of its kind globally.

Unlike certificateless cattle rearer, who suddenly became a preferred choice to a Ph.D holder due to some irrational resentments, came on board and started formulating and implementing policies that are inimical to the economy and making goofy statements that are also pernicious to the economy. Fired the major technocrats that kept the economy moving, and replaced them with unmerited northerners, party members, conjugal and consanguine relations.

To be frank, I don't foresee APC ruling for uninterrupted 16yrs like PDP did, because they are just unprepared for governance.

In civilized setting leaders who felt they have not shown responsible leadership resigns voluntary to preserve their integrity. This is & will never be possible in a country like Nigeria where the APC rode fraudulently to power based on lies & propaganda.Since the APC(All Promises Cancelled) advocated resignation for the PDP when things were far better then than now,it will be more honourable for them to justified that action now than ever.

Chinakwe's dog can't do that. Even if his remaining ear block, he will still dey there. The Northerners like power above life. To return the country to how he met it may even take him eight good years trying to do that. Only the Abacha apple can solve this problem.

The world will cease to exist the day a Nigerian President resigns from office. Resignation is an anathema to Nigerian politicians. Adeyeye knew his call was a futile one. He only spoke to remind Nigerians that the PDP has not been taken to the graveyard yet.

I am afraid of what might happen if Buhari should continue for another 3 years.
I hope there will be a country to hand over to his successor.

Is this the same PDP that got us into this mess or another one?

Silly set of idiotas. What did they do with the excess accrual from the oil boom? Who looted the economy dry which led us into this shiit.

Idiotas want Buhari to fix in one year an economy le shoeless used almost 6 years to ruin. Only bigots who religion and tribal sentimentalities have destroyed will take PDP serious.

I don't like both PDP n APC but APC is the worse wit nothin to offer. Buhari doesn't even hv a clue as to wat to do. If u check well, I tink Buhari has mental n health issues i.e. the ear cld still be bothering him plus other old age sickness dat may hv nt bn disclosed to Nigerians. I say dis because a leader in his right senses wld hv acted urgently considering the economic situation even on d the short term, but not in dis case.

He will never do that. If he would, why in God's name will a 75 year old man be struggling for power as if he wants to take it with him to the grave. He's so power drunk.
We can easily solve this problem if we can locate this lady
