1. U can buy a big ugu pod frm any vegetable market, it normally contains an average of 100 seeds in average and is sold @1000 naira here in enugu.
2. plant ur seeds in a raised bed after bringing it out frm the pod if the land is pest free or u may need to dry it for a day, if u think there are seed pest in ur farm.
3. you may get a huge pod of 100 seeds at 800 naira frm farms.
4. poultry manure is best due to its richness in nitrogen.
5. it takes 2 weeks to germinate, after that one more month b4 ur 1st harvest, after that u will be havesting it every two weeks .
I also planted 100 ugu seeds last two sundays, and currently 16 have already germinated hoping to get atleast 70% germination success rate,
THANKS.

what do u mean by replanting.
i mean trans-planting
Re: Need Advice On How To Run An Ugwu Farm. by SUPERPACK: 8:14pm On Sep 18, 2016
Dadanoah:
i mean trans-planting
it might delay their growth by 1 week,
it takes about 12days to germinate in normal direct soil planting and 7days in a sawdust medium in a nursery, the side effect of transplanting the seedling is nt much, just maybe 3-6days growth delay for them to get use to the new environment,
.
bt there is no for transplanting when u can plant it directly into the soil.

here in enugu state a seed of ugu frm the market is #25, bt if u buy a huge pod of ugu it goes for #1000 and contains average of 101 seeds meaning u bought it for #10 per seed.
