Some Niger Delta Avengers are already upset, the poster above me calling the mining state parasite. In real sense you're the Parasite. Read again, they did not say the revenue will come from oil, rather from the solid minerals extracted from their own land. Hatred will kill you.

I thought the 13% derivation was to compensate the oil producing states. The goose that lays the golden egg. I see no justification in giving part of it to the mining states unless it can be proven they contribute significantly to the purse. I also foresee another problem. Many states have solid minerals even in the north. This seems like a strategy to share 13% derivatives to states that were not even part of the idea. When solid minerals start generating revenue, they can take 13% of that. I thought Fayemi's job was to bring in FDI to make that sector viable?

U guys are daft.
U didn't read where it said active mining right? The 13% is on d amount of mining done.

Read it again u simpleton. It said active mining. And 13% derivation is always given on what u are able to produce that's why AkwaIbom gets more money than any other state. So only states that mine will get the percentage of the mining proceeds. Use ur head u nitwit

if u been read well n comprehend u for see say d 13percent na from fund wey federal govt set aside from oil revenue to take establish or develop d mining sector.
bro, that part is for establishment of mining firms and related businesses not for the profit sharing, the 13% is for sharing which is just a model like that of oil, you get the derivation based on your output, so its no way from oil.
firms get the fund you are referring to, states get the 13% derivation. anyone can be the owner of the firm while the states referred to are actively mining states.

You are brainless.
Who cares what minerals you find in your God-forsaken land? It is not going to improve your lives anyway given how corrupt and backward you northern folks are. It is just more wealth for your many oligarches while poverty and standard of living drops.
I would have been more joyful if discovering these minerals means northern secession from the south. That would have been the real good news.
you've got so much hatred in you, so much bile. Thing is it doesn't have any effect on the average northerner. Lol, at god forsaken land. The land that your Igbo brothers rather die in that move back to the erosion ridden, crime infested south east where no one wants to live in.

Thank you I ask this daily nobody seems to notice. There needs to be constitutional reform to make it so land and mineral rights are returned to individuals. Take it out of domain of Fedreal Government. Stop national cakes and let states compete for investment in market.
no one can give you this abeg, you have to fight for it, not through keyboards, not through media interview of any kind, but through street protest, civil disobedience, etc, you are asking for change in status quo, it will leads to bloodshed, i also want a change in the status quo, i am ready to join the street protest, are you ready for such? are you ready to face the legal thugs in uniform?
it is soo so easy to talk bro, sometimes, there is need for action, you fight by coming out to demand for justice but most times we come out to fight for whats wrong cuz of peanuts or we come out to abuse our so called leaders turned rulers just to have fame, we need to protest for justice in every sector and demand for same, even when they shoot us down, we need to still fight on, ARE YOU READY FOR SUCH?

Hehehe, I love how pained you sound. Now, relax let me tell you something: You are just a worthless nairaland moniker yapping. YOU DON'T COUNT. If you did, Fayemi won't have made that statement cos he'd be aware that there was a guy (you) who would bring down Armageddon if he went outta line.
So spend your youth spilling crap on NL while smarter ones from your region embrace whatever opportunities there are to find in this country. My estimate is that you are gonna remain and die a nobody, so by all means, continue spelling shyte, you aren't worth anything anyhow.

I wonder what prevented osun government from "shooking their eyes" since. If the 13% is the motivation they need that's not too good. If every state is hustling to bring enough to the table our present FG wouldn't been crying for lack of funds

you cant get a total reform through the ballot, democracybis a game of numbers, how many people can we elect to the legislatove arms in our nation that will be of sound mind? most of these laws cant easily be repealed, you need the NASS & STATE HOUSES, I bet we cant get that to change these laws in 50yrs. except probably we have citizens changing mindset of what election really means and its future impact, but i doubt that can ever happen.
also so many good people see politics as a taboo, in democracy, you aspire to get elected by demanding for votes, how many good people can and are ready to do that?

Hatred? Ofcourse that is what an intellectual midget like you would say when faced with the bitter truth.
What is there to hate in a backward shitthole.? Your president is talking about 13% derivation from undiscovered and unexplored minerals like a true abokii that he is , when the real need of the nation is the total unbundling of the resource sector and a decentralized government.
You are not serious at all in that country and development would continue to elude you all since you continue to misconstrue truth for hating.
The South east does not need terrorists to populate it. It is the most densely populated part of Nigeria with an army of entreperneurs in a game of survival of the fittest. You obviously don't have the mental capacity to cope there. Your socialistic feudalistic bushlands is the right fit for you.

You sound very unpatriotic and unintelligent at the same time. You need to be properly schooled about Governance and people. Stay quite so that you may be counted among the wise. Nonesense angry

What d minister said was that any state with mineral deposit will b pathnered with and the state in concern will receive 13 percentage of d proceed and government will know add it to d allocation before been shared among the 3 tiers of govt. Dat is so simple for anybody who understand english.
