Some Niger Delta Avengers are already upset, the poster above me calling the mining state parasite. In real sense you're the Parasite. Read again, they did not say the revenue will come from oil, rather from the solid minerals extracted from their own land. Hatred will kill you.
On the contrary they would be pleased. When next they push for 25% derivatives they would get the support of other solid minerals states unlike before. Let oil be found in the north and you would understand this better.

Hatred? Ofcourse that is what an intellectual midget like you would say when faced with the bitter truth.
What is there to hate in a backward shitthole.? Your president is talking about 13% derivation from undiscovered and unexplored minerals like a true abokii that he is , when the real need of the nation is the total unbundling of the resource sector and a decentralized government.
You are not serious at all in that country and development would continue to elude you all since you continue to misconstrue truth for hating.
The South east does not need terrorists to populate it. It is the most densely populated part of Nigeria with an army of entreperneurs in a game of survival of the fittest. You obviously don't have the mental capacity to cope there. Your socialistic feudalistic bushlands is the right fit for you.
pffft
You are just a sad, bitter human being . No time, man. grin

They have not even begun credible investigation for marketable raw materials and industrial-level exploration and they are already looking for 13% derivation.
Parasites who can't receive what they dish out. I am sure if these guys had oil, it would be a grip-like hold.

Only God knows how this kid sleep at night with all the hatred in his dark heart. No wonder he was exposed by one guy here few days ago. You will just kill yourself over nothing.

so where re those minerals in the north or u people hide it?who ever says that oil is nothing should ask dubai saudi qatar. u northerners should not confuse us biko

if this follows the Laws of the Land it is a good move. some comments on this topic tends to suggest that this is a Northern Agenda but i vehemently disapprove of such thoughts. There are solid minerals deposits scattered across the southern states ...

Thanks my brother for standing out. So many people on NL don't understand the policy of governance, all they know is APC,PDP,zombie, wailer etc. Any thing your state can produce and bring revenue to federation account, you get 13% of it. This is the beginning of true federalism and resource control.

If the solid minerals are on Niger Delta domain you will not come to spew this trash. selfishness and hatred. You enjoy 13 percent from oil, you still want the 13 percent of other regions to be put in Federal account as national cake. Selfish person.

I dnt want to say that u are stupid cox that may be an insult to either u or those who are stupid. But all i want to add to that is that; mining first before noise making!. I dont know how mining will pollute their rivers, lands etc..but if they like, make it 100percent, but let mining begin!!. Afterall we want true fedralism, have ur mines..leave our oyel!.

If they do this policy it would bolster our case for resource control. Then ending national cake with oil. This only makes them look like hypocritical if they so no. Most people on nairaland agree with idea but it's just politicians that haven't started yet.

We would need coalition between regions that would benefit like SS,SW and maybe SE. The laggard norther states are only ones that seem to have issue.

Nonsense! It is laughable for Minister Fayemi to thinks Nigeria can make so much from mining. I do not think so. It is just a political weapon to blackmail the Niger deltan who are calling for resource control.
So the talk about paying 13 per cent to states with viable mining sectors is just a political tool just to spit on the face of the Niger deltan.

There is no way Nigeria can get the kind of money they receive from petroleum exporting in the solid mineral mining.

Mining in itself is arduous, tasking, with long suffering. It is not like the easy petroleum where you just pump crude and export and get your dollars.

Nigeria should go and study the stress Australia passed through to get their mining sectors to an international standard.

Meanwhile, the government is creating the false impression that mining is just starting in Nigeria whereas states government in Nigeria have been conducting mining secretly for years.

Lol who says exploring crude oil is an easy task. Go to ur backyard tomorrow na and start digging for oil. Ask countries deriving from solid mineral how lucrative it is. Yes mining might have bin going on for long but jst like agriculture, it has not bin properly harnessed because we don leave everything for oil..

Don't even bring your ignorance here. It has been revealed that the Niger Delta oil palm proceeds were much more than the proceeds gotten from cocoa, mining, groundnut pyramids etc combined so pls get your facts right. ND oil sector was established by money from ND oil palm sales. Without ND, there'd be no Nigeria.
FriendChoice:

And what was used to establish the oil sector decades ago? ist not from Federal government account with money from cotton, cocoa and groundnut. Just because you don't know history, doesn't mean everyone is like u

He is just being ignorant. Proceeds from ND oil palm were more than double the proceeds of groundnut, cocoa and mining put together. And ND oil palm revenue was also used to establish the oil sector so don't believe their bull crap.

So you don't know that ND contributed to the national revenue in the days of Agricultural export. Please wake up N stop being Tribalistic
