It said that the various club coaches in europe are against the Nations cup, saying that it is a bad idea, urging African players to boycot the tornament. Wilson Oruma was quoted as saying that when he was signing for his new club, he promised that he wasn't going to feature in the African Nations tornament, so he is a big doubt to feature.(www.kickoffnigeria.com). English premiership bosses like Sam Alardyce and the rest, are strongly against releasing players for this tornament.

My Opinion is direct, they have no saying, i don't care what it costs them, this is Africa's pride, and in no way are we going to do away with one of the few things that still keeps us together. They have taken everything we have, they have taken most of our best players from our leagues and now they are against our beloved tornament. No way should we stand for this, and no way should any african players stand for this. So if they can't take it, they should go hit their heads against something. THE AFRICAN NATIONS CUP MUST GO ON.

It is boldly written in FIFA 's rule, Clubs have no option.

This never fails to infuriate me...

Is there ever a suggestion that David Beckham should notplay in the european cup for England....so why is it wrong for Essien to want to play in our equivalent for Ghana??

The suggestion of culpable clubs and coaches has to be deemed racist!! FIFA must never acquiesce and allow clubs to stop African players going to play in the nations cup.

As for players like Yakubu who choose club over county ... may he never play for Nigeria again!!!

May be written, yes, but we have to acknowledge that CAF is full of dunderheads. Why else would we be the only Confederation on the planet that our national team tournament clashes with the schedules of the clubs that every player wants to play for?

Even the South Americans restructured the Copa America so that the Europeans don't have too many complaints...

Still doesn't remove from the fact that Aiyegbeni is a dunce though...
