He is right about this but am worried why we are still not producing enough rice for all in Nigeria despite the fact that this recession is an opportunity.

Is it that the cost of production is very high in Nigeria?

With all the money you have made through legal and illegal means which manufacturing or assembling company do you have?

You are paid millions of naira per annum and have no manufacturing company and expect someone who struggled to make your annual salary in 10 years to open manufacturing /assembling plants.

All you criminals do is to impoverish the masses without giving anything in return.

See that guy advising to run for president come 2019 if you yield to his advice you fail woefully.

What stop him from investing in rice and toothpick production.

?

Of course it is. Just look at all the obstacles businesses have to face in the country: bad roads, non-functioning railroads, unreliable electricity supply, rampant crime, endless demands for bribes, incompetent bureaucracy, exorbitant interest rates, arbitrary policy changes, little access to foreign exchange, government favoritism to "players" like Dangote, a shortage of labour with desired skills (vs. paper credentials), etc. Under the circumstances, it is almost a miracle that anything is produced in Nigeria at all.

Reading nonsense like this from Ben Bruce makes one wonder just how much day-to-day involvement he has in the businesses he claims to own. All of the difficulties I've listed would be obvious to any real business-person operating in Nigeria.
