Investigations have now revealed that Rotimi Amaechi, the Minister of Aviation sometimes in January, 2016, in the company of a serving Director of the DSS approached the two arrested Justices of the Supreme Court – Justices Sylvester Ngwuta and John Okoro at the home of Justice Ngwuta at the Judges’ Quarters in Abuja to help compromise the Rivers and Akwa Ibom States Election Tribunal Judgement before his Lordships.

Mr. Amaechi allegedly, acting on the instructions of president Muhammadu Buhari, brought the sum of $2million dollars to the home of Justice Ngwuta.

After speaking with both Justices for over an hour on the matter, they called the de-factor president and childhood friend of the president, Alhaji Mamman Daura on the phone who pleaded with the Justices to help as Mr. Amaechi was representing the president on the matter.

A source close to the Chief Justice of Nigeria has told LeadersNG that he believes this is one of the reasons why the two Justices of the Supreme Court might have been arrested.

The source said, the CJN reported the matter to president Buhari that same week in January and the president had assured the CJN he will investigate the matter and never did. The close aide of the CJN told LeadersNG that after going back and forth on the matter, the Justices refused to collect the money from Mr. Amaechi and later reported the matter to the CJN.

Although the source said president Buhari denied ever instructing Mr. Amaechi to approach any of the Justices, he however assured the CJN of an investigation into the matter, no investigation was ever carried out to the knowledge of the CJN.

Op, I don't know what u will gain from this post. But I would have felt happier if we think as the masses these thieves have looted from PDP or APC politicians alike.
It is close to impossible to see Tinubu, Ameachi and their likes prosecuted in this administration. So since they are all thieves, why not we use them to achieve our aim. How u may ask, they prosecute those they think are corrupt today, tomorrow we vote against them and open the books to prosecute them too.

In the end the masses who have bn deprived will be the beneficiaries. We the youths need to drop this religion or ethnic affiliation. This politicians don't consider that while stealing...the current onslaught against the judges covers all regions.

Let's ask the government to use the recovered funds, before it gets looted. By the way we are taking notes of corrupt people in this administration. Did I hear u call Bruntai,Alhassan,we are compiling their names...the books will be opened too
