Gov. Wike has done the right thing and I gave him kudos for that. Those judges where pounced upon because they gave some judgement that does not go down with FG hence resort to humiliating them. This action was condemned by NBA, senior lawyers and so many Nigerians. |

obstructing the course of justice-is a criminal offence but doing it with impunity-speaks volumes of hidden agenda against governor wike..when the ATGG and VJES rises in support of wike's government...they would be seen as noble men and worthy activists...Nigerian leaders had refused to shed the toga of being 'fantastically an accomplice to corruption'...when the common man who had no cup garri to drink is arrested in the mid of the night nobody sees anything...but when judges who had turned their homes to bureau-De-change..with millions of dollars and nairas lying-in-wastes in their cupboards...were arrested...then, you will hear...some birds of the same feathers saying it its unconstitutional!...Yoruba wise words says..bi a se bi eru bee la bi omo...God De o o!...anyway, any how, corruption must go from 49ja.. 1 Like |

prof1990: Which evidence? Do you mind dropping them here? Do you think DSS has any evidence and they were writing NJC to give them reports, evidence, and facts nailing the judges for which NJC refused...Now, what they did by invading their privacy is to see the possibility of getting a document which is in contrast to what they submitted to CCB... Calling people corrupt doesn't make them corrupt bro...RSS would still have to PROVE in court that whatever TRILLIONS they think they got from these judges home were PROCEEDS of corruption... including the said corrupt practices from which they were generated... Also, be sure, DSS would be inundated very soon with abuse of human rights, invasion of privacy etc charges in court...which will mean government paying so much damages if they lose in court which is likely... 1 Like |

Am not in support of the arrest of the judges in any form... NJC are the ones mandated by law of the land to deal with the fate of any judge. no matter how good your intentions are, if you derail in carrying it out through the lay down procedures, you are not better than a criminal. Justice must be carried out well
The above got me laffin, You really have enuf research to do. 1 Like |

Re: Wike Under Fire For Obstructing Judge’s Arrest by arresa: 2:20pm On Oct 14, 2016 |
Wike the chief law enforcement officer of that state is himself the chief law breaker. The courts decides who is right or wrong constitutionally regarding powers of arrests and constitutional guarantees, not Wike. The judge involved can go to the courts to challenge his arrests and either supress or throw out whatever evidence collected against him if the arrest was unlawful and which was not Wike's to decide. Wike like many in Nigeria are all thugs sitting in government houses. Due process means going to the courts to seek redress and relief when wronged, not to commit criminal acts like obstruction of justice. That was abuse of office, lawlessness and thuggery. He's time is coming and whatever hes hiding is due to be exposed, it's just a matter of time. |

Osmondinho:Did you read what you posted at all? based on your own myopic reasoning, so if the police suspects a student who has broken a superior law of the land, eg alleged kidnapping, rape, etc, the police must get approval from the vc before arresting him, since he has not broken any school rules and regulation? abi? if money laundering and fake asset declarations are cases that can be prosecuted. do they have to rely on the decision of the NJC?, knowing fully well that they are colleagues?. the NJC has no power to prevent an arrest of any person that is being suspected of a crime. you've been infected. go purge your reasoning. |

You are the one that is myopic and lack understanding of the workings of the different arms of government. I advice you pick up the nearest 1999 Nigeria constitution and read it. which superior law pass the constitution of the land #mofo |
Re: Wike Under Fire For Obstructing Judge’s Arrest by lanreni: 6:50pm On Oct 14, 2016 |
Osmondinho:i have read it. and there is nothing that says judicial office holders can not be arraigned in court. the immunity clause does not cover them. the NJC is a statutory body that is still subject to the laws of the land. i don't know which constitution you are reading. i forgot. you are a mumu unrepentant wailer. sorry. |
