Surfing through Nairaland I've seen people dispel notions about the paranormal or ghosts.
I've had stories of people who died and came back to life and also stories of people having encounter with spirit beings.

I'm going to share my experience of the above mentioned two and leave the doubters to have a field day dispelling the stories.

When i finished my SSCE in 01. I travelked down to my village in Anambra to read and prepare for Jamb. I was so in love with what nature blessed us with and the peace that nature bestow unto us daily.

There is this forest in my place called Agbor where people fetch firewood for theor cooking. The forest has existed for 100s of years because of the taboos associated with it.
The forest has a god that's dedicated to it and there are rules guiding it.

Some of the rules are You can't sell the firewood you fetch from there, you don't enter the forest on Eke market day, when you are in the forest you can't throw spittle, urinate, killl any animal there, defeacate or urinate there, if you pperceive something smelling you don't as what's smelling or throw spittle. Failure to adhere to this and you will find yourself wandering alone inside that forest for a whole day. Stories are told of people who ran foul of the rule and they wandered about unknowingly for 2days

There is this stream in the forest which you can only fetch with basket and when you hang it in your house anybody that steals from you will be cursed with swollen tummy and death which might go strike to your 3rd generation unless you confess your sin.

In my final year in school when one of those ASUU strike came around i decided to go on a silly adventure to look for that stream cos i was always inquisitive about things

remembered going to the forest on an Eke day to search for a river inside that forest where basket is used to fetch the water. I was a Lagos boy who never believed in those myhs so on that Eke day when everywhere was silent i ventured into this big forest where it is said people are not allowed to enter on Eke market day

When i got inside the forest i put my earpiece on and i was listening to a song when my phone just went off. I tried switching it on but it refused to come on. I waved it aside and continue walking deeper with my cutlass in my hand.

Soon i started hearing someone calling my name, i feigned as if i didn't hear it but it was getting louder with more echo from the trees. I stood there with my cutlass ready for anything that might come up but i didn't see anything. I was fighting inside me to give in to my fear but i knew that i was deep inside the forest and the worst thing that can happen then is to give in to my fears.

When the thing stopped calling me the next thing i saw was a big python gliding away from me, it didn't even notice my presence and since we don't kill python in my place and you can't kill any animal inside that forest i allowed it to go.

I continued in the opposite direction of the python and using a piece of cloth to tie trees on my way so that i can mark my way when going back.

While walking i could feel a presence but I've determined to follow the pathway which one old man told me i can get the location of the stream. Along the way some bunch of chimpanzees started jumping around making this loud shrieking noise. It seems as if i came to disturb their meeting. I was scared stiff.

When that noise was growing loud i heard the shreik laugh of an old man, my head swelled up and i could feel and hear the voice of a human. I turned and started running back. I heard footstep behind me but i just couldnt stop. I ran until i got caught by a twig which made me to fall. When i tried to stand up standing in front of me was a man I've never seen before. The man didn't utter a word and turned away walking through a path. That was when i knew this is not the ordinary so i doubled up and ran back.

The cloth i tied on those yrees were my saving grace but i could hear those chimpanzees jumping around on trees while i was running. They were more or less pursuing me. I ran inside that bush for close to an hour because I've walked deep inside. I still can't tell how i got that strength to run like that.

I ran out from that forest without my cutlass nor my phone. I just didn't care but i ran from there to my home. When i got home my granny asked me why i was panting and where I'm running from. I told her i went into that forest to look for that stream but i saw a man instead.

My granny just broke down and started crying because she knew I've brought trouble into the family. She called my uncle who in turn called other people to come around. They told me that I've committed a great sacrilege by going into the forest on an Eke day. I was just staring at them not understanding what they were saying because at that time I've lost my sense of speech. I could hear their talk but i couldn't process it and reply them
