Mary Slessor was a simple Sunday school from Scotland who by the inspiration of David Livingston became a missionary in Calabar.

She lived in the tribe, learned their language and ways of life and was repected by all. She stopped several harmful traditional practices amongst them was the killing of twins who were usually abandoned and left to die

Mary Slessor died in 1915 at the age of 67. She was mourned by all. Today she has several monuments name after her in Calabar. She never married but preferred to live a sacrificial life

She was a true mother to many. May God reward her works. AMEN. she changed the minds and thinking of the calabars with true knowledge of our father, king and Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. "there is none other name under heaven given to men whereby they must be saved, except the name Jesus"!. (Acts 4:12).

Yet, some fools will ask to know what good Christianity has brought to Africa. Don't be surprised to know that some calabar twins are also among the fools.
