When your pastor owns fleet of private jets and exotic cars and keeps preaching to you to sow bountifully and have faith.

When you pastor claims to have the keys to the gate of hell but does not have the one to heaven.

When your pastor shares a testimony that he drove from Ibadan to Lagos on empty tank

In Nigeria, prophets that meet that criteria is fewer than few, yet we are still afraid of such prophets because it's better to believe a lie than nothing at all.

My dear Nairalanders, it is very difficult to know .even Jesus Christ Himself said in the Book of Mathew 24.. That they shall arise many false prophet. Even to a point that if it were posible they will decieve th very Elect of christ...So search urself if u are the very elect of Christ u shall never be decieve...I want to here a very big Amen to that

The bible says in deuteronomy that if a prophet prophesy a thing and it didn't come to pass, then he did not speak from God, therefore he is a false prophet. There is no explanation or two ways about it.

Don't get it twisted a pastor is not necessarily a Prophet. There are five ministry gifts are offices, namely prophets, teachers or preachers, pastors,evangelists and apostles.
Whatnwe see these days are people going about claiming to be pastors, evangelists, prophets and all others rolled into one. Its possible anyone can have the Spirit of prophecy come on them once in a while and they will prophesy just like King Saul when he was in company of the prophets of Israel, that does not now make him a prophet. All these men giving weekly, monthly and end of year prophecies like pure water or just making forecasts not prophesies and they can only deceive the unenlightened or baby and lazy Christians who are not ready to embrace the word for themselves... So yes, by their fruits ye shall know them fake pastors and fake church goers alike

A false prophet is he the one that his prophecy didn't come to pass keeping in mind that God remains sovereign example the issue with Jonah and niniveh also Isaiah and Hezekaiah.

Sheeples and empty threats. A fake Church is a fake Church! A false teacher, prophet, Apostle and Bishop overseeing his trade center where for example hopes are sold for seed money, has nothing to do with Church of Jesus. Today again sheeples will buy hopes from despicable men and illusionist.
I don't think you realized that the method of instilling fear and manipulating old testament passages by false teachers (owners of Church Business Centers) is fast losing grips on the church market. When was the last time you heard a false prophet shouting touch not my anointed when caught in the act? One was nabbed at Calabar just recently, he forgot such threats like blasphemy! watch your tongue! allow god to judge! touch not my anointed!

Guys don't concern yourself with what is high.

Prophecy is a message from God. It can not be subjected to empirical analysis as most people are ignorantly doing now.

Fact that a prophecy does not come to pass does not mean, the prophet is fake.

There was a prophecy that Israelites will be in captivity for 400 years but they were there for 420 years, does that make God or the prophet a liar.Nope.

Prophecy are not usually cast in iron, they can be prayed away, Hezekiah is a ready example, they can remain unfulfilled by the actions or inactions of people.

Visions and prophecy can be misinterpreted, that does not necessarily make the prophet a liar.

Assuredly by their fruits you shall know them, that a pastor amass wealth does not make him false.

Buying planes does not make a prophet necessarily fake. Can you even distinguish a prophet from a pastor, evangelist from an apostle?

Solomon is the richest man ever, yet he was for God and hears from God.

Your theory that a rich pastor necessarily translate to a false one is fallacious, thoughtless and silly without facts.

this year makes it 12th year that I ever stepped my feet on church for sunday service. I don't believe in any pastor or GO but I believe in God. As you can see, anybody can post on this thread but if it's Muslim thread, you will have to swear an oath before you are allowed to make a post.

thorough brainwashing is very real. False prophets give false prophecy period! Thus says the 'lord' if you sow seed to this commission in 3 days somebody will dash you dollars, miracle money will enter your house, and you shall never be sick again.

It is very easy to know false prophets. I have watched T B Joshua heal a guy that couldn't sleep and abandoned those on wheel chair. Pastor Anwuzie travelled abroad and did a similar thing. Therefore if you want to worship God, do that in spirit and truth. Forget about pastors and their prophesy.

A true prophet can speak of himself, that does not mean he's false, what about the once that came to pass? If we judge that way all the world prophets and pastors have said one or two things that never came to pass, so they are all false? But come to it, did Trump look to you as chosen one?
