Why do some confused people here always use "Afonja" to rep the entire Yoruba race ? I mean Afonja is just a warlord from the tiny Ilorin city and who at no point become the all and all of the Yoruba race. Infact he was key to the dis-integration of the mighty Oyo empire. So why are these Igbos confusing themselves ? It is one thing to be ignorant, it is another totally different thing to be ignorant of ones own ignorance. Igbos dont know. Yet, they did not know that they did not know. Their case is fatal, they need prayer not help. 21 Likes 2 Shares |

sweerychick: Yes AFONJA is an ethnic group located at the south western part of Nigeria. AFO/NJA, in Igbo AFO means belle (belly), NJA means Bad....thus AFONJA means BAD-BELLE (people) ...... 58 Likes 6 Shares |

ithope2: How is it harsh? The o.p's father is wise and would reveal it in clear terms! Do you know the consequences for its moniker in this section before it would get the definition or the sort of tribal e war this question can brew? Don't worry follow the thread and watch how it turns out if it gets to front page, that's when you would know that I am even kinder than Jesus christ! 2 Likes |

Onijagidijagan:I will address your questions one by one 1 the osu cast system was abolished during the advent of Christianity and colonialism in Igboland Unfortunately the spirit of your forefather afonja flows in your veins you behave like him you can't be trusted you are betrayers and fulani ass licker My people don't practice the so called system you mentioned 2 I don't understand what you mean by distributed in baby factories but I will like to add that we don't use our children for rituals like you yorubas 3 The highest number of prostitutes can be found in the south wasste or west Their women are so cheap that you can secure their services for as low as 200 naira 4 The highest recorded cases of drug dealers in nigeria involved yoruba men and women ask drug baron tinubu buruji kashamu and yoruba actor baba suwe 5 it is better to have a flat head than attempting to kill a one year old child all in the name of tribal marks 6 yamiri is an hausa word how can we bear a foreign name I can go on and on but I don't want to give you people more high bp 23 Likes 1 Share |

Afonja was a betrayal warlord from somewhere around illorin that betrayed the entire Oyo empire for half a plate of fulani stew without fish. So shameful! In contemporary times, it means all those who betrayed Nigeria by I'll advising our President and making him appear 'brain-dead' to the plight of d nation. 14 Likes 1 Share |

Afonja (N) /aefonja/ group of persons that can sell their birth right for a plate of rice without fish. Afonja (V) Being a coward as a result of genes you possess. Afojaism (N) /aefonjaizm/ a believe or doctrine that you can betray at will. Afonjaistic (Adj) /aefonjaistik/ being a hardcore afonja.
