Mimiko plotting to delay poll – Akeredolu

Peter Dada, Akure

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Ondo State, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN), has accused the state Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, of taking some steps towards ensuring the postponement of the November 26 governorship election.

The APC candidate, in a statement issued in Akure, the state capital on Monday by the Director of Communications of the Akeredolu Campaign Platform, Mr. Soji Alakuro, urged the Independent National Electoral Commission and the security agencies in the state not to succumb to the alleged antics of the governor.

Akeredolu, who expressed his readiness for the forthcoming poll, said all stakeholders should work towards ensuring a free and fair governorship election in the state rather than postponing it.

However, in a reaction, the Director of Media and Publicity of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ondo State, Mr. Ayo Fadaka, described the allegation of the APC as untrue and baseless.

He said the APC was jittery because of the popularity of the PDP’s candidate for the election.

Fadaka said, “It is an empty allegation because they have no evidence to support their allegation. It is all lie.”

But Akeredolu further alleged that the governor was planning to organise a three-day protest across the state so as to give excuse of insecurity as a reason for the postponement.

He said, “We are aware of the untoward moves and pressures being mounted on the Independent National Electoral Commission as well as friendly security heads in the state by Governor Olusegun Mimiko on the need to postpone the forthcoming governorship election in the state.”

Aketi should stop crying like a fowl.. If he indeed is competent he would win, he shouldnt worry whether the election is postponed till 2019...

With the way Sheriff faction is going, Mimiko should forget about Ondo.

May the best rigger win as usual in Nigerian elections undecided

It's a lie, APC and Akeredolu are working day and night for election postponement than any other person.Since Oke case has been clear out of court and APC and Akeredolu don't have money to spend, he wanted to make a deal with presidency to postpone the election bit make it look like Mimiko did it.
Oke ni ooooooooooooo grin

Why is this Aketi man talking nonsense. At first he criticized the Olusola Oke campaign yesterday, now he talked about Olumimiko. Why won't he face the burden of his APC and campaign to win instead of telling cook and undone stories of Election postponement..

Anyway! Jimoh Ibrahim I support
