Southern unity is a hoax...
It hasn't existed in our history and it won't exist in the future...
Why then are you deceiving your self and giving yourself false hope.

Very workable....!!
Historically speaking....the real aborigines of the geographical space named Nigeria are covered in the simple equation......
South + Middlebelt + Core North Minorities = Real Nigerians

The rest are marauders from Mali, Niger, Chad, Guinea and Senegal or Arab Slaves....

Truthfully, while it's desirable, it's hardly workable.

The South West had always been described as betrayers. Our generation, born after the civil war, never understood why the South West was referred thus. We only heard stories but we never had experiences.

But during the Jonathan years, we saw deep hate from the South West ruling class. And the hate was baseless.
We saw hatred for a President who had just tripled the minimum wage. We saw hatred for a minister who was for the first time in our history renovating our airports and building new terminals. We saw hatred for a President who was reconstructing our railways and building new rail lines for the first time since the colonial masters. Even when he started using Julius Berger to construct the most important road in the South West, they ridiculed it. They called him names despite the massive economic growth the country was facing.

And they did all this because of Jealousy and hatred.

And come elections, blinded by hatred, they aligned with with their number one enemies just because they couldn't stand the growth of their neighbors.

You see, we(SS+SE) don't understand how the SW reasons. Barely 20 years ago, Abiola won an election. His election was cancelled. He was jailed and killed. All of this perpetrated by the Core North. Gen Diya was the Vice President. He was humiliated, jailed and sentenced to death. The only South Westerner ever to rule the country, Obasanjo was also jailed and sentenced to death.

And then for petty Jealousy, you align with the same players who perptrthese acts against you.

No we(SS+SE), are not interested in an alliance that is coming because you suddenly find yourself standing alone . Noooo. We can't.

NB
I recognize the fact that a large chunk of SWerners didn't join the charade of the change chanters . Lots of SWerners are excellent minds and great people. My reference is to the change chanters and the zombies that stuck their heads out for the oppression and despondency happening today in the name of change.

It will work if the players can lower their ego. The fact that it had not work before does not mean it will not work this time around. The most important thing is purpose of unity. It's time for the South to break the ceiling. I really look forward to a south eastern presidential candidate, viced by a minority from the north central. This equation will surely triumph if the South can speak with one voice.

First, the word betrayer is being abused daily by many people. The only person that can betray you is someone you have a pact with. The South has never had a pact before. Nay, not even one.
The ill-fated Civil War which many people have been deceived about never saw the South having a pact. The betrayers has always been in the minds of all who use it and I think it unfortunate.
The only time there was a cross-carpeting, it was obvious from the word 'go' that Awo was gonna cross-carpet. His political overture to Zik was roundly ridiculed by Zik; the same way GEJ ridiculed the political 'noise' of the SW during his time. I must say, that GEJ only 'laterly' had a pact with Afenifere and some other groups and that have him more than 40% of the vote in SW. In all honesty, I think the SW is far more reliable with a pact, as seen by GEJ's last minute 'deal' than any of you guys admits.
To the SW, you must reach an 'agreement' rather than just thinking he will just 'tag' along.
A Southern and Middlebelt coalition is feasible.

You tried to addressed the issue of betrayal. Although, I disagree with you, I can let that pass as the issue of betrayal isn't as bad as the issue of hatred. Can you now help us understand the reason for the gross hatred and Jealousy displayed by the SW elite not just towards Jonathan, but towards the people of the SS+SE. It's the hatred we cannot fathom.
And FYI, Jonathan never ignored the SW. Jonathan on numerous occasions reached out both to the Afenifere and the Tinubu group pretty early in his presidency.

I remember Jonathan in 2012 trying to eulogise Abiola by naming UNILAG after him. Boy the vile and contempt that followed was thunderous. He abandoned it instantly.
While a new terminal was being constructed in MMIA and a renovation was being carried out for the first time in decades, SWerners suddenly started getting angry and showing pictures of terrible toilets in the airport. Today, the airport goes dark for hours and there is no hysteria from this same group.

You have a large chunk of SWerners celebrating Buhari killing of unarmed IPOB protesters. You have SWerners urging Buhari to wipe out SS villages that produce oil for the whole country. It's a mindset the SS+SE can never understand. U see, many of us aren't fans of IPOB or NDA but we can see Hatred coming from people we've done nothing wrong towards and we have no choice but to support these groups.

If you want a discussion, help us understand the hatred. I feel it's born out of Jealousy, but if you have a contrary perspective as to the reason for the hatred, then help us understand it.

I get the your words.
Pre-2012, was there any of these things you mentioned? No, there was none. So, what went really wrong?
First, the 2012 January 1, subsidy removal package was something the SW won't understand. Worst still, GEJ mentioned cabals and rather than face them, he face Nigeria masses. Two, GEJ ensured the persecution or prosecution of Tinubu at the CCB, that causes a political friction btw him and the Tinubu camp. We ain't really care about Tinubu's issue though, but his camp picked offense. Three, the Boko Haram menace and how GEJ handled it. And lastly, the way GEJ bad mouthed all Yoruba elders (calling them "Garage touts"wink, he more than undid himself on that. He goofed by that statement.
The Igbo issue is basically that of crying more than the bereaved. They tot a fight against President Jonathan ('President', used deliberately) was against them. And maybe they tot the SW really hard them.
On the IPOB
palaver, it was obvious that obvious that the campaign became suddenly High Pitched after GEJ loss. Yoruba's suspected that "Biafra or death" a blackmail tool. Though, its only a foolish Yoruba man that will celebrate the loss of any man's life. NDA is been understandable but SW also suspected blackmail. Using violence as blackmail is something a Yoruba man will never like.
However, a Southern, Middlebelt and Northern minorities will serve us all better.

Buhari removed subsidy and didn't fight any cabal, why was Jonathan's own different?.
BTW,I'm guessing Saraki's CCT travails n more under Buhari is a compliment on Yoruba 'leaders',whereas Jonathan putting Tinubu on the dock is abomination.
Biafra agitation has been on since Obj era, gathering momentum under Jonathan, yet there was no official shooting of unarmed protesters n no one cheering such killings on,until SWers thought they'd gotten to power thru Buhari.
Yar'Adua's government caused the BH insurgency, yet the man was humane enough, enlightened enough to know that force of arms will achieve nothing in the SS,only Justice would.
Your guy came in,with his 5% n bombings, and you guys cheered him, believing such would secure your collective exploitative rights in the delta.
Now,your chickens have come home to roost and you now want us,whom you've maligned,to trust and ally with you against your erstwhile allies and partners.

Of a truth, the Jonathan administration brought out the real beings the S/werners are made of. Nothing is far from the truth, they cannot be trusted with any form of alliance or pact. Do so at your peril. Jonathan's Administration brought so much prosperity to them, revived the death-trap (Benin-Ore road) their loved brother (OBJ) ignored for eight (cool good years, gave thousands of yoruba graduates millions to setup businesses (YouWin) and so many more I cannot say. They called him ogogoro drunkard, called his wife shepopotemus, and abused him with the worst adjectives ever. You guys need to remain with the North, that's where you belong.

The question is, was there an alliance then? Was it not in the public that the SW are not happy with the way GEJ was treating the Yoruba's? So, how are they betrayers or traitors?

OP i don't know why you lots keep on disgracing other Yorubas in the face off of Tinubu and Pmb administration, we should be the bride, we and the middle belt are the deciding factor in Nigeria politics for now, asking others to join us is not necessarry, what we should prepare for is to ask any of our house of reps, senator and state members if they are ready for true federalsm, resource control, if not we are not voting them in, which ever party wins at the center will bear less influence on you once power is reduced at the center.

If the south Cannot see the reason to unite since 1956 do you think they will now? if the middle belt cannot see reason to dis unite the one North lie that have never served them well, its their own headache, If Igbos won't stop calling Yorubas betrayals for no agreement or pacts, do you think the south Will unite?
its okay for an Igbo man Zik to be President (ceremonial) to Balewa North, Ekwueme vice to Shagari, no betrayal abi but When Awo was finance minister to Gowon and now Osinbanjo vice to PMB Yorubas are betrayals. Make una continue ooo.
