Being Hot and turned on is good if you’re about to get
laid. Other than that it merely serves as a distraction and
forces you to become $exually frustrated. People need to
fight off s*xual urges at times when it starts intruding in
your life by:

*Putting you off your concentration at work or school.
*Stress – you can’t feel relaxed when you don’t have s*x

First thing first to stopping any habit is that you have to get comfortable with it and stop treating it like a disease. Find the root reason for the act then counter it gently don't be too hard on yourself. You won't able to counter it at all times but gradually taper the frequency of times you engage d habit. You will see.

The main problem is being truthful with yourself as to why you really engage in the act. If you can do this then you are 50% done.
