How many megawatts are we talking of here? I hope it is fed into the grid for all to use.

Wat is this man talking about? Power generated In Nigeria is fed into the national grid from whence it is disturbed and it doesn't even guarantee the generating state a substantial part of the power........

And this is actually killing the zeal of patriots who would want to generate power on a small scale for their locality only, he should go ask Rivers, and Lagos states how their romance with power generation ended on a sour note.....

If that's how it is states shold break off the grid completely. It's that simple. Example Texas has its own grid. After the state sinks cash in grid completely switch off national system. Everyone wins in the end. States that like the poor national system get more power. The states that took initiative to generate their own power independently get stable power supply.

Theirs no law I know off stopping a state from doing it. The law only says state on national system have to abide by dumb regulated rules. (Which is fair if you can opt out).

During times of excess power generation the state will sell power to national grid. That way the power isn't wasted. Smart grid technology can make sure these functions operate smoothly. Multigrid solution would be best for a massive country like Nigeria. Since we don't have cash to move power across with out significant loss across transmission lines.

The scenario u described is the best bt here in Nigeria, it has to be fed into the national grid and NEPA or whatever they call themselves will now decide which areas to feed with it. The owner of the project is not even allowed to ve a say on how the power is to be shared and I think this arrangement is the main bottleneck people/states that would want to generate face ...

Rivers State encountered this with their independent power project, a project which only about a third of the total power generated would ve served the whole state, bt NEPA said no way and that it has to go to the national grid first before distribution and in the end some parts of the state were shortchanged and were still without light, these made the state government lose interest and the whole thing died.

Good development,i think Nigerians are beginning to learn from the igbo model, not waiting for foriegn investors that may never come. Indigenous investment in your locality is the solution to our problem, you dont have to only invest in Abuja or Lagos, take them to your states,so that development and industralization will be all round.
I think Anambra is ahead in this model.
Once more, congrat to Indimi for the initiative, more of it.
