Imagine! So the pecuniary interest of the so-called small operators now supercede the interest of millions of ordinary Nigerians who are already overburdened and strained by the ongoing recession? Of what value is it to the generality of Nigeria's Internet-using population whether some "small operators" acquire greater marker share or operate profitably or not? How many Nigerians are employed by these so-called small operators and what is their economic or labour market significance vis-a-vis the assailed disposable income of millions of struggling Nigerians? Is the primary purpose of government to ensure the security and welfare of the people OR to protect the economic interests of some business organisations? Sometimes I cry for Nigeria. This is what you get when you employ retarded and grossly incompetent bastards into national institutions and leave out qualified individuals in the name of nepotism. 7 Likes 1 Share |

This is absolutely bullocks, turn the tariff dial to the highest, Nigerians will still prefer the Giant 4. What the government needs to do is to provide conducive business environment for the small players, provide light, access to forex and what have you,and watch them grow. NCC!!! This strategy have never worked in Nigeria, and will not work now. 2 Likes 1 Share |

The only country where the government is ignorant of their jobs to the point that they tinker policies to not only steal money from the masses, but to invent access into the market for their graft and self-interest. I dont understand where we are supposed to move to, as a people. So this so-called Government can find who to steal from. And they have destroyed the Education system, promote tribalism, magnify religion and promote people's worship in such a way that the masses do not even communicate with each other enough to revolt against the chronic oppression of the hungry and battered masses against the fraudulently enriched political class. Until we go out there and burn their houses and things precious to them, they will never listen to us. 1 Like |

One thing missing is the NCC failed to mention how much bribe they received to do the job. I think this is a capitalist society? Its up to market forces to determine what companies you stand and who shouldn't. A true EFCC and DSS interested in working for the intetrest on Nigerians and not politicians would discover large sums of money has exchanged hands to bring about this anti-people policy. 1 Like |

valex7art: they want to please TY Danjuma(their paddy) the chairman of NTEL. Etisalat came in many years after MTN and AIRTEL, yet they face the challenge. Now they are rubbing shoulders. If he can't compete with others with all his money, he should give up. Let federal govt re-privatized NITEL or dash it to a Chinese company. Or maybe Danjuma bribed them. 1 Like |

There is a question bothering me ever since i heard this news. Why would the telcos be allowed for govt to decide on its prices of operation? I thought they are privately owned and independent of any decision from the govt? Imagine i own a company dealing on shoes of variegated types. Then the govt decide on how much i sell my shoes to the consumers. Is that not joint partnership business btw the government and I? 1 Like |
