Our borders have always been porous, where do they dug you out from?

Is the governor abetting unrest and more killings? No. He's instead reaching out to both parties to embrace peace and rid themselves of a bitter unproductive strife that's unhealthy for any sane gov't and its people.

You are clearly a Fulani man so you will never see reason in the truth of this matter

The reward system in Nigeria is standing on its head. I don't know how El Rufai sees this oh but this is what I made of the situation.

Illegal immigrants enter our country, do business and in the process clash with Nigerian citizens. They kill and maim many Nigerians and destroy the livelihoods of many others and then leave. You, the government now follow them to their country to beg them and even pay them.

Haba, which kind of utter stupidity is that? Or is it because he is fulani?

Who will pay for the souls they've wasted & crimes they've meted on people for time immemorial??

Same committee that issued this statement also claimed the genesis of the problem is herdsmen and their cattle were unprovocatively slain in south KD and other north central states, till date this crime is often committed when likeminded perpetrators have the upper hand.

The focus of El-rufai's statement is dialogue and peace, burrying the hatchet and moving on. If you have problem with that please profer more effective and viable solution.

Your statement is nonsensical. Are they supposed to be paid when they took law into their hands? They were paid because they've killed so many people in retaliation for their cows that got killed while destroying people's farm. They were paid to stop taking the law into their hand.

They were compensated after a committee arrived to a conclusion that the motive behind their hostility is because their brothers were killed and no one is brought to book, and were still attacked by the slightest chance their oppressors have. The gov't is simply trying to address those grievances so that no one will try justify their action from events that occur long ago.

The herdsmen were compensated for their killed cattles, a wrongdoing meted against them.

And what has been done to compensate the NDA for the inequality in distribution of their own resources

How about all d environmental damage and loss of economic benefits due to crude extractive activities? Where is the compensation? Or is that not a wrong done to the people n citizens of oil producing communities?

If exploration lead to displacement and shattering of economic activities of a community, this is injustice. But I think the 13% derivative given to various states, the allocation to ND ministry and other department and agencies covers relocation, compensation and reintegration of affected communities.

Wouldn't it be wise if dwellers of that region ask their representatives where the allotment for their well being is going.

No, 13% does not cover those. It is meant to be some royalty payment for being d source of crude. There is something called the polluter pays principle which the government ought to enforce against all erring international companies responsible for incidents of spillage, effects of gas flaring etc and ensure full compensation and reparation of damaged areas bt d govt rather collides with these criminal investors to the detriment of common people who are too poor to fight prolonged legal battles.

Do u expect 13% derivation to serve as compensation ahead of expected offences? Do u know how much damage is wreaked whenever there is oil spillage? That is supposed to be quantified upon occurrence and d polluter pays or returns d affected area to status quo via reparative intervention.

U need to lose the 'we against them' mentality and really study how these things work and d serious hazards ravaging d SS before you type ignorantly.

sarrki why don't you ask the state governors to settle the militants? Elrufai I understand is a state governor not the president hence local authorities should solve local problems.

Do SS governors control and disburse natural resources within their states? Do they regulate activities of investors in the sector?
The FG by despicable fiat owns the resources in the SS and is automatically responsible for all activities arising out of d extraction of said resources. It is not a local problem as u so assert unlike cattle herding which is strictly individual n personal business which state n FG can legislate or act upon in their relevant capacities.

Abookis think only Fulani people should be negotiated with. Others should be shot.

I am quietly waiting for militants to begin to deploy car bombs against the murderous nigerian military.
