Solution to our power supply depends on the federal government in the sense that what they see in other developed countries are not implemented in Nigeria.

To solve this, let the use of private generators be banned from all homes in Nigeria including Mr. President's house in Katsina state and governors. Let only companies, banks, firms, factories, workshops, salons, hotels, government houses, aso rock villa, industries, small scale businesses, etc be allowed to use private power generator in case of power failure.

I considered this option because when the power problem becomes everybody's problem, then there is quick solution to it.
We are suffering for this epileptic power supply today because power problem is not everybody's problem in Nigeria.

As crazy as it sounds, I think you have a point there @Poster. Over 25 years ago, we started purchasing generators to help provide for ourselves what government refused to. But it seems we have gotten TOO COMFORTABLE with using generators that we have FORGOTTEN that it is not even NORMAL. I mean 25 years later, we are still referring to generators and associated accessories as ALTERNATIVES, but not much is being said about PRESSURING Government to get to work to fixing the main problem already.
Now there are those who are doing their part but the majority of Generator owners have forgotten that lack of constant NON-Private generator power supply is a PROBLEM.

The simplest solution is tht the FG should encourage every Nigerian to generate electricity via wind & solar energy. tax breaks should be given to anyone importing solar equipment, N100,000 naira incentive to anyone capable of not only generating enough solar for self consumption but also enough to add to the national grid, we are looking for electricity in all the wrong place that is why we will never get there. Electricity generation should be decentralised. Individual states should take care of their power supply, so that any state who want to use generators like its done in Gambia can do same.
I thot Yaradua read Chemistry abi na hausa chemistry for the production of fura de nunu him read??

I have been talking about decentralization of power generation for ages. Even the developed nations encourage distributed energy generation, offer incentives and invest in research.

No nation is completely energy sufficient because energy in itself is a moving target hence the may programs being put in place to manage what is available why trying to reduce the energy demand.
