Re: UK slangs by spunky(f): 9:25pm On Feb 09, 2006
hey, im lisa frm the north of scotland...

we say scaffy for sumthin thats really disgustin or not clean, it comes from "scaffy lorry" which is the truck that picks up your rubbish cheesy don't know wot else to call it...like "aww, that's so scaffy"

droochit i think comes from gaelic and it means very wet but u have to say the "ch" like "och aye" its that scottish throat noise =D

me and my friends...and i think this is very local....say vair instead of very, and marvy which as far as i know comes from marvellous so we often say somethin is "vair marvy"

Re: UK slangs by chiogo(f): 2:51am On Mar 11, 2007
I don't know what u guys are doin' here but most of these words u call slangs are mostly jamaican words and english, i mean american english that can be found in the english dictionary.Like someone said dude-- boy.yeah, it means boy but i never knew it's a uk slang 'cause it's often used here in america, even in naija. lass and lad ,an english word everyone knows means girl or boy.po-po is also called police here especially by black people. So, i don't see any slang that has been written.
