Whoever wrote this article is a latte sipping idiot! Ogun state is economically viable than all eastern states. Secondly, the easterners have no impact whatsoever in the economic realities of Lagos state. The success of our state Is as a result of tireless work put into place by our legislative and executive arm of government for over decades. The idiot who wrote this article intentionally omitted Emefiele who has more responsibility in the woes of our economy, yet picked on Fashola whom is quite distant from formative economic policies. The brain leaking retard somehow correlates socialism as the reason why Adeosun and Fashola are 'failing'-How insane is that. When we talk about the Nigerian service or industry sector, the South west would best the east any time anyday.

I really don't understand the intent of this write up, because it smears of great ignorance......
Kalu indika Kalu and Chu okongwu were the respective ministers of finance btw 1985 to 1990 when SAP was implemented.......
Infact Kalu came from world bank to become minister of finance to ensure effective implementation of SAP.......
Falae had a brief stint in that office in 1990 for less than a year and as at then SAP had fully ran it's disastrous course.....

It looks more of a British culture versus American culture.

American leaning/trained technocrats are more capitalism oriented than their British leaning/trained counterparts who lean towards a welfare state model.

Whereas, finance was widely embraced in American culture pretty early - the Chicago school for instance - the British were more of conservative oriented leaning towards accounting and recording of transactions. Well, until recently.

This is an attempt to deflect the discussion from one tribe against the other. Let's broaden the scope.

How tribalistic can you people get.

Poppycock. You don shift goal post from Lagos to FG abi? I thought you were going to show us how Akabueze and your phantom igbo technocrats were responsible for the Lagos miracle. How many Igbos technocrats are in Ambode and his purely Yoruba cabinet's admin? And as for NOI, you must think you are talking to to tots coz all knowledgeable folks are aware that even she forecasted a recession since as far back as 2012, and even warned before her handover tgat the country's economy was already in recession and was even borrowing billions of dollars to pay salaries.

Let me explain to you as respectfully as i can without cursing your destiny out for suggesting that your people are intellectually superior than mine. If there was no pipeline vandalisation or excess supply of crude in the international market(which are all outside the control of Kemi) there wouldn't be a recession. This recession has nothing to do with socialism.
timsTNA:

Yess, it is true the recession started in 2012 under NOI, but the fact that Nigerians never felt it just shows how good a manager NOI is. Under Kemi, everything has fallen apart because she lacks the know-how on policies and measures to cushion the effects of recession

Jonathan himself said it that the SW controls 55% of Nigeria's economy.

Excerpts:

“When Jimoh was talking about World Bank statistics of the poverty rate in regions in the country, he said South West has least in the country. In fact, Lagos and Ogun contributed almost 55 per cent of the economic activities.

http://nationalmirroronline.net/new/i-regret-emergence-of-tambuwal-as-speaker-jonathan/

And he wasn't lying when you consider the indices from Manufacturers Association of Nigeria's last report as follows:
The SW virtually controls/accounts for atleast 70% of industrial activity in Nigeria.

http://businessdayonline.com/2015/02/ogun-ikeja-top-manufacturers-investment-destinations-in-2014/

Ogun, Ikeja top manufacturers’ investment destinations in 2014

While Ogun, which is now Nigeria’s industrial hub, recorded N377 billion worth of investments within the period, Ikeja returned investments worth N39.86 billion.

Ogun State’s represents 78 percent of N483 billion worth of investments made in the whole of the manufacturing sector within the period under review, while Ikeja shares 8.3 percent.

“This has revealed that the majority of manufacturing investments were directed towards Ogun industrial axis, which consists of Otta, Agbara, Ibafo/Mowe and Shagamu industrial areas,” said MAN, in its latest January to July 2014 economic review.

....

The data further show investments in Kano/Sharada/Challawa as N19.75 billion and those of Oyo/Ondo/Osun/Ekiti as N19.2 billion within the period under review.

Anambra/Enugu that had N5.5 billion worth of investments.
while those of Imo/Abia were estimated at N309 million.

that's an elementary or at best a beer parlor excuse. Six/seven months of lethargy by this administration to assemble a cabinet was enough to throw this country into a quagmire. Would crude oil prices have any impact ? Yes but a serious govt that actually hit the ground running would have mitigated to the barest minimum such crises instead of playing the blame game and galivanting all over planet earth for inanities that haven't benefited the country in any way cool

I said the primary or basic reason for our recession is the drop in foreign earnings as a direct consequence of the drop in global oil price.
Countries affected aswell include Russia, Saudi Arabia etc.

If you have any reason for the recession you consider more basic, state it. You dont have to blow inadmissible grammar to buttress your point.. keep it simple and correct.

Lagos is a NO MAN'S LAND with industries owned by FG,Foreigners and Nigerians.how many indigenous Yoruba firms are in Ogun and Lagos. The Southeast rose from the ashes of war to become the number region with the highest concentration of indigenous industries and firms .from fighter jet parts to cars, buses ,heavy duty trucks ,military trucks and ware etc.

it is a great feat that a region that started afresh in 1970 is no march to others in terms of local content without outside help.
