it is a great feat that a region that started afresh in 1970 is no march to others in terms of local content without outside help.

Yinmu. If it makes you sleep better at night you are free to believe that even Capetown SA is a no man's land for all i care, but any sane person knows who owns and controls what.

While you're at it, please list those Igbo-owned Industries in Lagos and the SW you keep bragging about that can come close to Yorubas' in the region.

I guess to your sick mind the following SW based industries are Igbo-owned: Honeywell Flour Mills, GZI Industries, ProForce, Elizade, Bi-Courtney, Eleganza Group, Folawiyo Group, Petro Inett, Modandola Group, Manucom Fishing, Aiico Insurance, the Yoruba-owned banks, Insurance Companies, e.t.c. Even SME's (interestingly, after Lagos state, Oyo has the highest number of SME's in the country, higher than any SE state) we are comfortably in the lead. You know what SME's stand for right? And how many individuals you must employ to qualify as one?) all located in Yorubaland. I am waiting for those Igbo Big Businesses in Lagos and the SW (not 'pure water' ones o) that are more than Yoruba owned ones, and that give you all the ballz to brag.

http://nigerianstat.gov.ng/pdfuploads/SMEDAN%202013_Selected%20Tables.pdf

Also kindly List the number of Insurance companies players that are Igbo-owned dominating Yorubaland or Nigeria in general.

How many Igbo-owned investments comes close to LADOL in Lagos?

List the Banks that Igbos dominate that are more than the Yoruba-dominated/controlled Skye Bank, First Bank, Sterling Bank, GTBank, FCMB, e.t.c.

List the Telecoms Company that are Igbo-owned/dominated like Yoruba-owned/controlled Globacom and NTel

List the I.T businesses that are Igbo dominated that can stand the likes of Spectranet, CCHub, MainOne

Which Igbo-owned businesses can match the dominance of Yoruba-controlled Oando, ConOil, and Forte Oil?

Chicken Republic, TFC, Tantalizers, Sweet Sensation, Mega Chicken are owned and controlled by Yorubas.

The only Transport segment Igbos dominate is that of buses that convey their kinsmen between YOrubaland and the SE. Yorubas control the SW internal routes, e.g. When I take a bus from Lagos to Abeokuta or Ibadan, 9 out of 10 times the owner of the Bus is a Yorubaman and not an Igboman, so get your facts straight.

In a nutshell, Yorubas already dominate the Big Businesses and industries that count, e.g Finance, Oil & Gas, I.T, Telecoms, Insurance, Manufacturing & Industry, e.t.c. It would be unfair of us to dominate everything so we've left them the crumbs like dominating the Super-Eagles, Gala Hawking , spare-parts bizness, Selling DVD/VCD at Alaba, Entertainment (though Yorubas dominate the Music scene, while we comfortably have our indigeneous Film industry on lockdown as well ), transporting your kinsmen to-and-from the SE to Yorubaland, e.t.c. Your people can keep dominating those. But even Commerce/trading sef una don dey dump that one sef for drug-trafficking.

This quote right here exposes the reason why Yorubaland should be wary of these lying and incorrigible braggarts from that corridor. Their supposedly better technocrats have so far failed woefully to stem the tide of mass emigration perpetually afflicting their region and make it the envy of the rest of the country, yet dem still no humble. These parasitic loudmouths still depend on other regions [especially the SW] for economic survival owing to the non-viability of their home region, yet they just can't help themselves when it comes to their signature delusional posturing. I guess Leo Stan was right afterall about his own people.

I have already stated in the past that if Azikiwe had succeeded in becoming Premier of the Western Region, the Igbos would have claimed that no Yoruba man was suited to rule and that they brought civilization to the Western Region.

The Igbo man has mastered the art of showing ingratitude and misplaced entitlement for whatever privileges are availed him outside his own domain.

You forgot they are dominating all other tribes in prostitution in Nigeria.

In abeokuta, 80% of prostitutes are igbos while the remaining are indigenes, south south (mostly cross river and edo) .

There was a time my NGO used to rehabilitate prostitutes in abeokuta environs, they were mostly igbos. You need to hear the reasons why some of them left their village to indulge in prostitution .
Most of them came from a poor family, they said life there was very hard. some became prostitutes because of greed and that's why we have about 2,000 igbos waiting to be executed in the China alone for drug trafficking. .it will surprise you they even have international prostitutes in Dubai.. People like Afro candy.. .they are good in the art of love peddling

Azin i felt pity for these people that day

"something similar" sounds fair enough. Have the govts of those countries put in place any stimulus packages to buffer their economy ? That's assuming what you say is true that they're facing someting similar to what's happening in Nigeria
Russian and Saudi are both in deep economic crisis. That's why all OPEC countries ran to Vienna to meet on cutting supply

GDP, IGR, Industrialization-in fact in every area that makes an economy
grin cheesy grin
IGR yes, because more than 95% of the industries and commerce in Ogun are owned by foreigners and other tribes, unlike in the east indigene control 99% of industries and commerce, Ogun govt tax the living shit out of them while Anambra cut taxes for her people, others you mentioned are fallacious

I don't know where you get your facts from, but one thing is clear: You have zero clue what recession is. So quit the misinformation. You should go an learn.

timsTNA:

Yess, it is true the recession started in 2012 under NOI, but the fact that Nigerians never felt it just shows how good a manager NOI is. Under Kemi, everything has fallen apart because she lacks the know-how on policies and measures to cushion the effects of recession

Igbos are mainly traders that buy and sell on a daily basis, when they sell they deposit and when they want to buy they withdraw. The circle keeps repeating on a daily basis, my friend that is not a measure of development or wealth.

If I withdraw N5000 from Bank and bought a shoe for N4500 which I later sold for N5000 and deposited it back to the bank the same day, financial transaction for that day is recorded as N10,000 but I truly don't have that amount in reality. Imagine repeating the same thing on a daily basis and tell me what my financial transaction will be for a week not to talk of a month.

You just reason, how will anambra's financial transactions be higher than Lagos, port-harcourt, kano, Ibadan, ogun or Kaduna. These are the states with the highest GDP contributions in Nigeria. If anambra is that wealth Igbos won't be rushing down to Lagos and other South Western States on a daily basis.

Well I dont need to rewrite history.
Was there a recession under Ngozi Iweala? NO
Is there currently a recession under Osinbajo, Adeosun, Fashola, Shittu, Fayemi....? YES

What could be the reason? I simply gave an explanation-Socialist Education.

How tribalistic can you people get.

You are too sentimental on your comment. In a developed society, we have socialist and capitalists who balance the economy. The SW region in Nigeria (remember that d country is a developing one) possess both, citing examples of business tycoons like adenuga and co. States in the SW region maybe owing but the borrowed money are for infrastructural development. To clear your imaginary doubts, pay a courtesy visit to Abeokuta, Lagos, Osun, Ibadan, etc to see the level of works currently ongoing.

The recession in the country today affects all tribes and if we can be honest, mismanagement and misappropriation of funds occurred when oil price peaked during the last regime.

Even though this current administration has not lived to our expectation, in terms of funds management and infrastructure, I give them a past mark
