Generally, there was a massive cultivation of food stuffs and the perishables in the north.
Harvest is now going on.The large transportation of these produce including tomatoes, pepper, onions etc from the north to the south have made it so.... A local processed mudu of rice in Minna now sales for #350 from the usual #650.
Re: Prices Of Foodstuffs Go Down In Lagos Markets by worlexy(m): 5:14pm On Dec 15, 2016
So tomatoes and Tatashe are now foodstuffs abi
Re: Prices Of Foodstuffs Go Down In Lagos Markets by Nobody: 5:14pm On Dec 15, 2016
The only that has gone down is pepper and tomatoes, nothing else. And it is sold how it was sold during GEJ's time.

LIES.... LIES..... LIES

Prices of food has gone down in Lagos---Says who? Politicians or Lagosians

These people and lies, stop deceiving yourself..... Except there is now a new meaning for food
10kg of Semo now goes for 3000,
10kg of Wheat is 2800
5Ltrs of Palm oil is 3500
Chicken is 1000 per kilo

It has nothing to do with the Lagos state government tho, if he had his way this things will be cheaper. No thanks to our oga at the top with his pointless policy.

shocked no xmas chicken ooo, chai chai

My friend did u bother to check d price list in 2013, 2014? Or u just want to talk. If there's one thing GEJ's govt would be remembered for, its SURPLUS food. Lolzzz we even had a Federal grain reserve so quit being smart by half.

Does it really matter? The positive about the news is that the price was up before sometime but now there is a significant price cut which implies that those stuffs high in price can definitely go down again.

If Buhari can achieve these three in addition to security and corruption in three years or so,
then he would have put Nigeria on the right track

Not to be heralded until it comes back to original prices prior to inflation or better.
The essence of a leadership change is to at the minimum stabilize what they met or make it better, not worse.

If not so, why the leadership change in the first place, if the incumbent can still continue in governance.

No. Not good enough.

Agriculture, yes.

Sufficiency in power, No.

Sufficiency in petroleum products, No.

We cannot achieve sufficiency in power or petroleum products because the method of knowledge acquisition to achieve that was imposed, it happens in English language, and only happens in a school environment. On the other hand, the method of knowledge acquisition for agriculture is ours, happens in our native languages, and everywhere in our society. So, any Nigerian can have access to agricultural knowledge.

It can't happen because the model of education we practice is suffocating knowledge creation and development in those areas, not only in Nigeria but in all colonized third world countries. .

If you or anybody out there want to understand this theory, ask yourself; how come we have achieved self sufficiency in food supply and not in electricity supply, even when more money has been invested in electricity?

This is what we saw that the wailers lack the capacity to see.
From all indications 2017 will be far better than 2016 as Nigeria is well position for greatness through self dependency.
2017 will be far better as Nigerian or as government do their work. Because our problems has never been the people they are hard working but bad lazy government and policies.

If we continue on this trajectory and the govt steps in adequately to prevent wastage and glut by way of buying back excess produce and resupplying same when prices go up, we'd have achieved a great deal.

The trajectory I mean here is a massive return to agricultural investments by both govt and the private sector including the individual.

Oga, I don't know any historical culture that had large scale power supply. Not rome or greece.
Gas was the first public source of energy before electricity and many died from accidents so leave mata.
Many former colonies run refineries and have constant power. 9ja case just dey special, that's all.

And @Aufbauh:
You forget that erisco foods closed up their tomato processors of 100k ton a day. You forget that millions of lagosians have their money trapped in mmm. Both above meaning that laws of economics will drive prices down. You forget that the rains were not as heavy or damaging this year. You forget that cameroon didn't release their sluice gates to the plains of northern nigeria, which normally causes massive flooding across several states.
Or maybe you simply side-stepped these issues.
But give credit to this govt at your own peril-
Unless you're being paid to do so...
