Continuation

All didn't seem to go well, it was just like hell was about to let loose and as a young man, I tried to take control of the on going situation that was already taking place in a grand style in my hostel that day.
I went over to my room to observe if Juliet was angry about the scene she had witnessed. But Juliet was not looking angry at all and when I asked her if she was ''ok'', she smiled back like all was well, but deep down I knew she wasnt happy.
Anyways my friends took their leave after scraping every single grain of rice on the plate. I escorted them to the gate...
Thompson: oboy! Temy I go con spend one of this weekend with you. I hope say your brother no go vex o. Men, This your babe dey cook
Me: oboy! No be that one dey do me now, You no see wetin happen?. She just dey smile like say everywhere good.
Mayson: No too reason am.
Thompson: you don ever tell Juliet about Precious?
Me: nooo. But she suppose know say I get babe that year now.
Mayson: The matter be say, I wan make you dey careful
Thompsons: na so o, If you play your game wella, you fit blow the two of them but I no say you never bad reach like that. You no get mind.
Me: wetin this one dey talk? (shaking my head)
Thompson: Temy relax..... Oboy! I wan go burn bush, then sleep like a baby. My belle don too full, If I see any looseguarded babe this evening, I go too login sharp sharp.
My friends eventually left me... They left me all alone to face ''my'' problem all by my self, 'well I no blame them, it is my wahala'. I got into the room and sat down very close to Juliet on the bed. I tried to create a conversation but her one word reply wasn't making things easy for me.
Me: your rice and stew was so sweet, can you imagine thatthey ate every single grain of rice
Juliet: oh.. Wow.
Me: hope you still hear from your mum?
Juliet: yes
Me: that's good. Are you okay?
Juliet: yes
Me: are you sure?
Before she could open her mouth to reply with her normal ''OK'', we heard a knock on my door.
''who's that'' I asked, already standing up from the bed.
''it's me Precious'' was the reply I got.
''Mo gbe'' I almost said, as I hurriedly went to the door. I opened it, with the hope that Precious wouldn't enter into my room but it was the other way round.
''won't you let me in?'' Precious asked, with her lips looking all red and moisty. It looked so kissable.
''oh! Yeh, Come inside. Abeg no vex'' I said, scratching off the invisible ant that was crawling on my head.
I was in a state of dilemma, a state of shock and a state of anxiety. My girlfriend, My ex and Myself in the same room, sharing the same breathe. I prayed silently for Precious to keep mute about our past relationship but things weren't just working out for me that day. Precious kept talking about ''Us'', whilst Juliet was on the bed forming activity.
Precious: Temy... What's happening now, you still haven't forgotten all those bad times abi?
Me: I still haven't forgotten o. I can still remember does times when we used to read together, when there was no food to eat, when we'd trek to school. It wasn't easy. I clearly understand.
Precious: No No... I am not talking about that one. Why are You acting like this now?
Me: ooh! Okay. I get you now. Ah mehn...(shaking my head) Anyways it is well. There's no problem.
I felt Precious was trying to put me on a hot sit.
''Why will she refer back to my past in the presence of my girlfriend'' I wondered, ''wetin this babe dey find''. But I just wanted to keep thing lowkey, but things were just backsliding.
''anyways, Temy I'm back... I'm back. We will talk more. Please take care of yourself'' Precious said as she stood up from the chair she sat on and left to her room.
''take care, Bye'' I said with a pretentious smile on my face.
Throughout that evening Juliet remained silent, I wondered if all was well in her mind. After much effort of trying to appease her, I gave up and slept on the bed like a baby.
I was woken with a tap. It was still very dark, probably about 2am in the morning. I saw Juliet folding her hands whilst the bedshit covered her legs.
Juliet: Temy.. Wake up.
Me: yeh!... *yawn*.. Babe (This one wey she call me ''Temy'' I hope everywhere good, I tot)
Juliet: I haven't told you this before, but I will tell you right now.
Me: ok
Juliet: I was born with cowries on my left hand.
''you say wetin'' I tot
Juliet; I was actually born in Irrua, very close to Ekpoma (Edo state) before I moved to warri, I'm a special child. I was Born on a festival day which occurs every 50 years. Whenever I get angry, Of Which I hardly get, bad things can happen. I can still remember when I spat on a cat, when it tried to attack me when I was about 6 years, that same day an Old woman went blind, until I decided to forgive her. So Temy be careful.... And tell that girl to back off.
Me: I've heard you. Abeg... Go sleep.

My heart sank into my belly, as all the hair on my body stood erect, fear had completely gripped me, but I pretend as if all was well.

Angel: My name is Angela, but you can call me Angel, I'm sorry about the other time. I wasn't in a good mood.

Before she finished her brief speech I was already blushing. I felt like I was in another world, probably paradise.

Angel: Why are you blushing?

Me: Noo, I am just happy. I just cant believe that you're actually right here by my side talking to me.

Angel: Aww, that's so cute. I have heard alot about you. I heard you are intelligent. And this pastor just confirmed it.

"me intelligent, I pray o" I said to myself. I am actually just an average student. Although I put in my best in what I do but that doesn't make intelligent. I therefore had to capitalize on that, if I wanted to get what I want.

Me: I am trying o. Infact do you know I got the highest score in our post ume exam. I love to read alot. Before the professor even start to teach I already know what he is about to say. My friends say I should reduce the way I read else I'd run mad. (I lied)

Angel: Wao! Temy take it easy o. You know I like you. Can you help me write my optional course. Please.

Me: Of cause I will ( although I was feeling reluctant, but I wanted her, I needed to get her by all possible means)

Angel: My birthday is coming up next week I hope you will be there. I am just inviting very few friends. Can I have your contact?.

We eventually exchanged numbers. I was the happiest guy in the world that day. Angel just fell for my little lies. I went my friends house that day.

Me: Mayson, I don get Angels control number. Everywhere good o

Mayson: How manage, you put jazz for mouth?

Me: Oboy, me no know how I take do am. In fact na she approach me. Her birthday na next week, you go show?

Mayson: I wan prepare rice and stew.

Me: Oboy! Do quick I dey hungry o. Take this 500 add am join, make we organise better stew.

Mayson went out to buy the important ingredients needed to cook the stew while i played soccer on his play station 3. Not quite long I got a phone call from Angel.

Angel: Hello

Me: Hey, baby. How you doing

Angel: I am good. I just called to check up on you.

Me: Oh thank you.

Has this babe, fallen in love? . Why this sudden connection, I wondered. Anyways we shall see. I thought to myself.

Days passed... It was finally Angels birthday. I made sure I was the first to text her, so I woke very early in the morning. ''What present can I get her'' I wondered. ''or should I get her a teddy bear or a shoe''?. All these rhetorical questions went through my mind. ''This girl na big babe o, make I no go fall my hand o'', I wondered. ''okay, first thing in the morning I will call Mayson, he is good at this kind of stuffs''. I therefore went back to sleep, feeling a little bit satisfied that there will be a solution in the morning.

I had a knock on my door very early in the morning. I was really enjoying my sleep, my brother Ty, laid right next to me.

Me: Abeg, go check who be that( I ordered as a big brother of the house)

Ty: who be that (my little brother shouted, I could tell he was still feeling very sleepy)

Emafidon: Na me Emafidon.

Me: wetin this idiot dey find again (I said to myself)

Emafidon: abeg, you fit borrow me your broom and packer, I wan use am sweep my room.

This was a regular trend on campus. Students love borrowing things alot. It amuses me. They'd borrow clothes, foodstuffs, iron, hot plates, dvd player, headset, shoes, bags. Just to name a few. In fact, there can even go as far as borrowing your under wear. It's that terrible.

Me: TY abeg give am the broom and packer at the back of that door.

Ema: thank you, I go return am after I finish.

I smiled, we all know that's not possible. Over here in my school, once you borrow something out, you'd be the one begging for your own property back. Sometimes you might not even get it back again. It's that bad.

''This my yeye neighbour don ruin my sleep'' I said to myself. ''I better call mayson right away''

Me: hello

Mayson: Temy afa na. How was your night?

Me: Fine o, how was yours?

Mayson: fine thank you. Today na your upcoming babe birthday, how e wan be?

Me: That's exactly why I called you. I was thinking of getting her a present, but I don't know which. I'm confused.

Mayson: which yeye present, you don blow the babe?

Me: No

Mayson: then why you wan buy am present, see this guy o?

Me: I was thinking she'd feel more happier if she gets one from me.

Mayson: lover boy. Temy, your presence at the party is all that matters. You get. Don't go too far, take it slowly.

Me: okay bro. Thanks. I will come over to your place to pick you up. Is Thompson coming along with us.

Mayson: yes of course. Including Marvis.

Me: you invited Marvis?

Marvis, was also a friend of mine, we weren't that close. He was this fresh lanky dude. All the girls wanted him. He was just to fly

Mayson: you dey fear. No level. He no go take your babe.

Me: no wahala. Let me take my bathe. I will come over to your place.
