It's nice and also uncomfortable to know that MTN is funding part of next year's budget. It's time to boycott buying MTN recharge cards to make sure the cost is not passed down to customers. Meanwhile we need more politicians to steal much more next year so we can fund 2018 budget |

hotice01: You are not in Government, so you don't know how they operate. You see, we sometimes criticize wrongly and blindly because we don't know what's going on within. |

Aburi001: The gullibility of Nigerians: that imperviousness to evidence never ceases to amaze me. If loot recovery was substantial, you will see it accounted for by the finance minister as state governments demand their share via the FAAC allocations or the like. The reality is that for all the talk of loot recovery in the media, the actual amounts recovered are underwhelming. No one today talks about Sanusi's $20bn, even the $2.1bn arms loot is unreflected in the details of the prosecution's case against Dasuki and his accomplices. Another element that escapes our discussion of this issue is that if we assume looting was astronomical during GEJ's era, then today's "honest" government would have ensured that the effects of the oil price collapse on government's finances would be muted. This is a common sense proposition. Instead, an examination of the government's revenue stats shows not much difference between today's revenue and government revenue during GEJ's era. 1 Like |
