Nigerian workers may be in for better days come 2017 as the Nigeria Labour Congress has revealed plans to push for a minimum wage of N56,000 for Nigerian workers. The union says it will re-open talks with the Federal Government to increase workers’ minimum wage from the current N18,000 to N56,000. Just watch it. Buhari will not agree to this. The first question will be, "where is Nigeria going to get all that money from?" This means 32.143% increase in personnel expenditure apart from overhead. Pa Bubu will never agree to that. He would rather scream from his numerous trips abroad that Nigerians are corrupt, feed fat on estacode on irrelevant foreign trips, pump more money to our "thiefnators" and "legislathieves", shield those fronting his motives and insult his wife. Anyway, if he doesn't agree to it by dialogue, he will pave way by force for the good of Nigeria's civil service population of over 3 million. |

Instead of fighting for 56k minimum wage, lobby NASS to make a law that criminalises owing workers' salaries. Any governor who owes should be removed and jailed. If workers are getting the current 18' as and when due, there won't be much hunger in the land. |
