That is because it takes 6 years to be a doctor in Nigeria while it takes at least 10 years and student loans overhead of $300k to be a physician in USA. Add premium of malpractice insurance in the highly litigious American society, then the salaries you quote become relative.

What you put in is what you get out.

Moving on....I don't understand the issue of not paying people their salaries as at when due. The sad part is that the workers continue working until the arrears get to 6 months or more. One month of nonpayment should be enough to down tools.

Really?

Most tertiary health institutions in the country are facing the same situation. Fmc Owerri is not left out as resident doctors are on strike because of the same issue. The fact remains that ministry of health remains the most corrupt ministry in the whole nation. I have not been paid since October few days ago the MD said she would only pay 65percent of the Oct salary, just imagine.
