How does my neighbour deals with this situation that every time he quarels with his wife, the wife will dash to the kitchen, pick a knife and will threaten to kill her self?

It happened last night again, when we heard thier heated argument(quarel), as close door neighbour and friends, we went into their apartment as usual and behold, the wife holding the kitchen knife threatening to kill herself.

This threat from his wife, has become a recurring act and its really worrisome both to the husband and to us too.

As a human being, my friend is of the opinion that he cannot stop correcting his wife when she goes wrong, neither would he look the other way when she does things unbecoming of her position as a wife and also being subject to yield to the correction and instruction of her husband, without prejudice to her right as a woman.

We hope that like play, like play, the wife will not carry out her threats one day. Meanwhile, the man has been reporting this action of his wife to the family, yet she has not stopped it inspite of the words of advice from her family and well wishers.

My guy needs advice to help deal with this incessant suicidal threats from his wife.

First of all, stay out of it.
Secondly, he must have shown her in one way or the other that that is the only thing he is afraid of. Next time she tries it, give her a knife and you'll see she'll do nothing but cry

Anyways, since they have talked to her and she's not listening, the next time they have an argument the guy should leave the house for her. She needs help no doubt.She might actually do it(harm herself) even if the intention is not to kill herself.
She needs a psychologist.

It's a serious matter ... First of all, I will make a complaint to the nearest police station about her behavior so that incase something goes wrong, I will not innocently spend my life in jail.. secondly, I may have to move out of the house but before I do that, I will invite her parents, once they get to the house, I will tell them to take care of their daughter that is suicidal and they should let me know when she is okay, of course I will drop huge cash for them.... Then I will leave peacefully because I am not ready to be in jail for a crime I didn't commit... If anything goes wrong, even her parents that know about her suicidal tendencies will still blame the husband and demand for justice in court...

Let her see a specialist because the day she makes good her threat, people will say it's her husband that killed her. Police will not let him off lightly.
However, if there's a previous documentation of attempted suicide or threat of suicide in a government hospital, that may just help his case with the police.
