It appears that the Pontiac vibe GT or matrix XRS have a 1.8L engine that produces 164-180hp which i expect to give the accord a good chase against the normal vibe or matrix XR with 1.8L 120-143hp. This is against the 2.4L 2003-10 accord with 190hp or V6 with 3.5L 271hp.

The GT or XRS will compete with the accord especially because accord has more weight, but another factor is that the Pontiac is a 4-speed auto while accord is 5-speed auto giving the accord another advantage.

Exactly! Had it been it's a GT, I could have stood a chance.. But even the GT can't do anything against the V6.. 271HP couple with 5 speed automatic is classic combination

On the contrary, the 2004 Ford Focus (pretty much same body style) offered adult occupants full 5 star rated protection, according to Euro NCAP. For perspective, the Toyota corolla, Honda Civic, VW Golf, Nissan Pathfinder, Mercedes C class, Honda Accord and BMW X5 of the time were all awarded 4 stars, while the Nissan Almera and Hyundai Accent managed only 1.5 stars.

Now armed with this info...imagine how any of these cars would have fared at such speed...the less said for occupants, the better

I have this engine in my 04 Camry... Doesn't shut oil, but lacks enough power to my liking from rest. But, on high speed, it's a blast.

Is there a way I can improve the power from rest, without revolving high on Rpm
