We humans are prone to making mistakes but it can be averted if we get the right orientation.
More often than not, students in higher institution make a lot of mistake. Most especially the first year students sometimes called JJC or simply Freshers.

The Freshers are always confused and can fall for anything if not properly guided or mentored. To some students, the university is more than a place of learning. Others see it as a place of total stress, while some see it as a place of fun and parties. School is usually coupled with lots of activities ranging from parties to classes to lots of fun-catching activities.

Nevertheless, students also find it easy while others find it as place of total stress and therefore tag their universities as UNI-Stress or POLY-Stress.

In this piece, I am going to identify top mistakes made by Freshers. The buzz is usually very crazy for Freshers; they attend parties back-to-back, spend money lavishly on alcoholic drinks and probably forget about what brought them to school. They forget about reading their books and taking their assignments seriously. The unserious ones party away their high grades. Some of the Freshers end up getting low grades at the end of the semester or probably withdrawn totally and they finally blame it on their non-existent village witches.

In the vein, Freshers are always lackadaisical about going to classes. They stay in their hostel, cross their legs and watch the latest TV series back-to-back without going to class. After all “Who class Epp?”

As freshers, you need to cultivate the habit of attending classes in your first year because if cannot practice this simple call. It definitely means, you are not going to attend classes till you graduate.

Additionally, all in the name of classic-babes and tough-guys, Freshers are deceived into joining cults. They are enticed with a non-existent benefits. I strictly advise you to shun cultism. Don’t be deceived, security does not exist in cultism. It will destroy your life and probably end your education. Desperate Freshers, most especially the ladies are led into prostitution because of money. They basically waste all their time trying to please their so called clients and hardly have time to open the books.

Finally, don’t be carried away by the buzz and all the fun-filled activities of school. Take your studies serious and avoid the aforementioned top mistakes. A word is enough for the wise.
