all religions make man to think they are very important and the only ones in the universe. but what if science developed a faster means of space travel and discovered another far away solar system and planet for aliens, or maybe other set of humans alike, will it end religion here on earth? |

The human species are a funny lot. Even in the face of overwhelming evidence some would choose to follow any fad (think about the i don't give a fv?k crew here on NL) if only to appear cool. An alien species with a completely different set of beliefs and approach to life philosophy could provide a whole new religion which earthlings might adopt. The old religions might be relegated to history with fewer practitioners, taught as dead religions to school-age students and taken as cults by governments. Be that as it may, religion would always be a yearning of earthlings. It would continue to be a mind shaping tool which a certain segment of society would use in the control of others for pecuniary and strategic gains. It would be a source of succour for the troubled, the hope for the future and the thrust for which humans would shape their decisions. 1 Like |

Yes. But there is no such things as extra-terrestrials. If there were, we would have found evidence for them a long time ago. |

there are trillions of planets.... billions of galaxies... we don't know for sure if aliens exist... but even if they do(i hope they do) ... it would be an irrational thing to say it would bring end to religion... if aliens really do exist, it only multiplies our questions... not end religion |
