It was taken from the Lebanese that we're running it then passed to another company and then taken again and now roacgers people are prolly running it. When I was there it was the Lebanese guys this would never had happened. After taking it from the Lebanese they would not give it to a responsible person to run, they had their eyes set on the profit and therefore pushed away experienced management company so that they can have every penny coming in for themselves. The greed of naija people(The Imo natives were always against any non IMO person working in Concorde and would work to boot the staff out. Govt would lodge it's people for months and feed them there without considering that the hotel needs to make profit from selling those rooms, Govt officials would take bribe and turn the other way when inspecting the facility) has ruined Concorde. Roaches changed everything the hotel stood for. Let them endure, they wanted Concorde to be private property now they have it owned by roaches and Co. If only Roachers was smarter, he would have renewed contract with the management he met on ground and monitored their growth. But he wants to chop all revenue alone Greeeed. Those imolites who we're calling for Govt to make Concorde an all IMO workers hotel are crying now. When Lebanese we're there, salary was paid like clock work, service charge was paid like clock work, health, transport etc was provided for staff. Now their greed has left them with nothing.

When it was managed by RHAS or what were they called(the Lebanese guys). It was booming. Club wa good. Casino was good. Even Kanu had his Wedding there.

Then the State had to become unreasonable. They did not allow the company rest. They were quick to wrestle the management of the hotel back to the State Government's hand. Then they made a complete mess of the Hotel. After making a mess of the Hotel and killing it, they are now just managing to survive. A hotel that now uses buckets to deliver Hot Water. Shame!

I will not stay in that Hotel for free! Lest bed bugs follow me home from their dilapidated furniture and I develop mold allergies from their dead rugs and blinds.

Super K Hotel did this to me in Ibadan and I empathize with this groom.

I still haven't forgiven the management.

When these evil cora people were running the place (by the way, I am not Lebanese), place was not perfect. However, there was no problems with the power at the hotel, there was no security problems at the hotel. It was quite expensive to run (just the power generators would burn a drum of diesel per hour). In 2003, some eediots blew up the high tension lines supplying the whole of Owerri. Owerri was without power for 3 straight weeks. No borehole was working well in town. Outside the back gate, by the order of management of the hotel, 5 water taps were installed. Since the hotel had the power 24/7, water was available to the people of Imo state free of any charge 24 hours a day. For that, local chiefs gave the management the plaque of recognition for the efforts made to help the people.

During the era when RHAS Nig. Ltd was running the hotel, once again, things were not perfect. However, let's point out few advantages for the staff of the hotel:

1. Salary was always paid on time, no exception, even when salaries at the main company (RHAS) were delayed for weeks due to the lack of cash

2. The same medical care provided for the guests, was also provided for all the staff. Staff requiring surgeries or other major medical procedures were taken to the private hospitals in town

3. Staff were provided with transport from the hotel to a number of locations in town and the surrounding area.

4. When troubled by the police for no good reason (being arrested for simply standing in front of the house at odd hours, for example) such staff were saved by the management through the connections

5. When one of the staff members was involved in a major traffic accident in Owerri, it was the hotel management that helped to make sure the case is handled appropriately

6. Service charge was not taken away

7. Staff had one meal a day available at the hotel

I could add a lot more to it.

Even when Chief Mike took over and led the new management team appointed by the new Imo State government, things were somehow acceptable. But the people became greedy wanted more and more, with a total disregard for how the business should be run, so enjoy the fruits of your efforts now, and don't complain.
