The Deteriorative Recruitment Processes In Nigeria by MistaBabz: 5:19am On Jan 11, 2017 |
Long ago while we were kids they use to tell us that "Nigeria Will Be Better" but things keep deteriorating daily as we grow older. For recruitment processes, it takes donkey's years for a single recruiting agency (Government Agencies) to complete a recruitment process, what pains me the most is that they'll advertise about vacancies while at the background the children of the elites are already on ground to take the vacancies (what is the fate of an average citizen & who is deceiving who?). Of a truth I see no reason of giving hope & wasting somebody's time for him/her to wait for months after months & years after years upon a recruitment & oftentimes age requirements seems to be the greatest barrier in job search(the applicant keeps aging & waiting for one recruitment). As a job seeker one have to face the reality & start with any menial job you can lay your hands on, the great people you see today stooped low & started from somewhere beyond expectation but today their stories have changed. Get something doing because idleness kills both physically, morally & spiritually. 19 Likes 4 Shares |

lol op you are so darn correct this is a 5star article! they are fond of keeping people hanging. these are real devils. if they are reasonable enough, a regret mail would have pacified frayed nerves, and also prevent unnecessary wastage of precious time. extra: a time is coming that these people in future will be asked to recover the time wasted aswear. you and i know that one is impossible. 2 Likes |

Nice perspective but please read the below carefully. I would like to come from another perspective in other to motivate you and let you know some other peoples reality is different. 1. People still get jobs everyday and that is reality. 2. Sometimes it could be luck sometimes it could be that they understand the art of human resource. 3. Sometimes its about good CV. No good HR would ignore a clean, good and interesting CV. 4. Sometimes you just have to equip yourself with good arsenal of resources check www.HRtechnique.com 5. Its also about following instructions when applying for those jobs. People get disqualified a lot for simple mistakes. 6. A close friend who had nothing and knows no one got a job in FG. A lot of people do. 7. Life can be tough but there are still people making waves and blazing their trails. 8. You don't have to do menial jobs to become great. There are skills you can learn. I recognize that things are difficult when it comes to job even some of us are still looking for better opportunities but I assure you that if you make www.HRtechnique.com your friend, you will be exposed to a lot of things that can help you get a job especially in Nigeria. Here is an example: Recruitment practice in Nigeria, what you should know: http://www.hrtechnique.com/2014/05/general-recruitment-practice-what-you.html The goal is to help and enlighten as many people about job applications and how HR works in Nigeria. 8 Likes |

In Nigeria lately on retirement, most of these MDAs field in children of their retirees who are up the ladder. Thus, ruling away fairness in recruitment. If one retiree fills in 5 or more of his folks before retirement what do you think will happen to recruitment. Not to talk of those on ministers', governors', senators, Reps, list. Coupled with govt failure to create jobs for the ever growing Nigerian population, loss of jobs in private sector and more. You apply for a job, your application hangs in the air, too many applications. Those who didn't apply get the job. Don't be bitter op, gather a little and start a business. One day we'll get our senses right and sholve axes off their asses.....stupid government. |

The federal govt have over 200+ MDAs only about 15 of them do open recruitment.....the rest is history. |

There is one thing I lernt from Robert Schuller,s Tough time never last,... and that is, ability to be always positive in tough times. There are some things you don't need to agree to, or else your spirit and destiny will agree to them. No matter the hardship, people still get job without connection. I've read many testimonies here. I'm also a living testimony. These people are positive minded people. They never get discouraged by what others are saying about recession or unemployment. Anyone that wish to move far must start thinking positively. 3 Likes |

it really breaks my heart that most people on this thread are not making effort to understand this beautiful article. the message here is that HR people should have the decency to communicate with the candidates that did not succeed. instead of promising them "you will hear from us". or leaving them in the cold. 1 Like |

To be really honest, we have witches and wizards at the helm of affairs in government. Look back at years past, the majority of our leaders grew up in a Nigeria that made sense. They grew up and became leaders of their tomorrow, but decided to unleash their inner witchcraft and plunge Nigeria into obscurity. And the worst thing is that they keep inculcating this witchcraft into their "boys" who they hope will succeed them. This is just pure daylight wickedness in my opinion 1 Like |

VeeVeeMyLuv: Gbam!!! That's the point. Poor feedback system. Most of these so called HR don't know anything. You will have to know someone in the prospective company before you know what is going on with your application. Too bad!!! A simple feedback like a "regret mail" is enough. Though, kudos to some multi-national companies,, they give feedback on application and some will even tell you the reason your application can not be processed further. |
